Re: Countries where airlines are biggest brands

Name that came to mind was Singapore. Even if the country has a host of many other brands, the airline stands out most

Re: Why no non-stop Qantas flight to PEK&PVG from MEL?

These types of threads are so predictable... Why doesn’t whosit fly from whatsit to wheresit and then a barrage of insults ensue. With only 13 posts on these forums and being called an armchair CEO out of nowhere. I guess I learned the hard way that I shouldn't have engaged in any discussion in the...

Re: Why no non-stop Qantas flight to PEK&PVG from MEL?

I love how armchair Airline CEOs and Route Planning think they know more than the actual people who do the jobs. How do you know I am just an armchair commenter? ;) An MH/QF tie-up is nothing new. Has been deeply deliberated in the not-so-distant past. If it hasn't happened, one has to imagine it i...

Re: Why no non-stop Qantas flight to PEK&PVG from MEL?

A partnership with MH opens more doors than just China. QF does not fly to India nor Korea. All this can be achieved via a one-stop at KUL. MH flies to 12 destinations in China alone. A partnership and hub in KUL can see them together re-explore Europe. MH being in such disarray can be deemed as una...

Re: Why no non-stop Qantas flight to PEK&PVG from MEL?

There is a HUGE gap in China on QF's network. Again, as the theme from a few more threads on these boards, an official QF/MH equity partnership really would be extremely synergistic.

Re: MH an opportunity for IAG?

https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/open-skies-policy-demands-freedom-ownership : Malaysia permits the maximum percentage — 45% — of foreign ownership. However, it does not allow a majority share or control by foreign companies, which will naturally be foreign carriers. This is the answer indeed...

Re: Malaysia Airlines starts A380 Jeddah service in W18

I was once on KUL-JED.. during Ramadhan no less.. and load was poor.

Purely anecdotal of course, but I would imagine it will be very, very tough to fill an A380

What do you all think will happen to SAW once the new IST is operational?

Will Ataturk remain open?

Will TK move all ops to new IST?

Will Pegasus start to dominate SAW?

Interesting dimensions

Re: Malaysia Airlines mulls sale to another airline

QR is a bit unrealistic considering the Middle Eastern drama, whereby Malaysia does not want to side with anyone (publicly). Malaysia's image in China actually has rebounded, considering PM Najib's megadeals with China firms lately. Would not discount such a deal, though personally I don't see much ...

Re: Malaysia Airlines mulls sale to another airline

Qantas makes the most sense, and a deal was imminent years ago. Who remembers all that drama?
