If I could leave at 1600 to arrive on the east coast at midnight, I’d think it better than leaving at 2200 to arrive at 0600; no hotel room, wait around for things to open up.

Remember, under the RLA, the NMB a government body subject to political power, has to let airline workers strike. That’s half the reason for no strikes, plus the periodic meltdowns caused by recession, 9/11, SARS, etc. ALPA gets great contracts in good times and gives a lot back in bad times.

You’re not using the pneumatics for T/Rs very often, so not an issue. Pneumatics on the 727 IIRC and on the Challenger/CRJ

The B747-8i is the passenger version. LH flies some, maybe the passenger versions. The B777 took over from the 747 market.

New England folk have been heating with wood for generations. We heat the “living/kitchen” end with wood; propane is the base load heat. Propane also powers the gennie during an outage.
