Re: Toronto’s Second Major Airport

Toronto doesn't really need a second airport. Year over year, movements are stagnant or dropping, average pax/movement is leading the growth. If more short haul capacity is needed, CYTZ is where it's at, YHM can handle low cost traffic as required to fill in the gaps. The current system is more than...

Re: BA to YYZ -- Why the Decline

I do think there's room for modest growth especially a morning departure from LHR at around 10am But would depend on whether 'modest growth' on an alternative route would bring in more profits. Thats what IAG is all about now. I get the impression LON-CAN is low yield generally. Certainly. That wou...

Re: BA to YYZ -- Why the Decline

The route is growing ever so slightly in terms of total pax, up 4.1% last year to 1.09 million. BA used to be 3x daily from LHR in the high season, now they have an LGW and 2 LHRs. Air Canada now has 3x daily 77Ws and 1x 787, whoch represents a huge increase in capacity compared to the pre 10 abreas...

The way Airlines have responded to the A380 is a huge sample of humanity's failure to take care of our only habitable planet as well. The A380 (and Neo beyond the current) should be lapped up by many airlines and multi daily flights combined, limiting carbon. However, until we dismantle the current...
