Re: Delta A321 bins

I have an educated guess. When DL retrofitted their A319/320s, the large bins they used were problematic. While they were comparable to the larger 737 bins, in terms of size, they hang much lower without very stiff springs. Even with the heavy springs, people would bump their heads much more easily ...

Re: Has Fedex started getting upgraded Pw engines for 767?

I suspect they would have preferred GE too but various parties thought PW needed the business more. AFAIK, there was no engine options on the KC-767/KC-46 proposal during the KC-X competition. Boeing's KC-767 was proposed with Pratt engines, while Northrop Grumman/Airbus's KC-330 was proposed with ...

Making it a LR is easy - just install the ACTs. I don't know for sure how Airbus manages the MTOWs for A321neo and A321neoLR. Even if it's paper MTOW change, an airline will likely still need to pay Airbus for increased MTOW, and possibly engine manufacturer for additional thrust. So, it will not b...

I am pretty sure that ACF is an option for A321neo customers and you can still purchase an A321neo with four Type I doors activated and no overwing exits. AFAIK, ACF will become standard for A321neo, LR or not, by around 2020. The current configuration will no longer be available. However, airlines...

Hindsight is always 20/20. At the time, I think PW wasn't being unreasonable not to offer an engine for the 737-300. Between the launched PW2000 on the 757 and a propfan engine jointly developed with Allison for the 7J7, PW was confident that they had the market covered. Had the 7J7 become a reality...

While correct, it might not be adequate explanation for a person without knowledge of the issue. The pax aircraft is slightly nosed down. So Airbus had to use a longer nose gear to level the floor. The "dome" is to provide more room for the longer nose gear.
