Re: San Diego Aviation Thread - 2019

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd_ZY2JQrXo 'Delta started bringing back MD-80s in May-Late July 2018'.
However it's just the DL MD-90 service from MSP, isn't it?

I guess the last regular MD-80 visitors were Allegiant (until 2017?) and American (until 2015?)?

Re: San Diego Thread - 2018

Great to see an A340-600 in SAN! Anyone knows why it came in from Vegas? The official story we are hearing is that it was "weather related". I don't know if it was ATC-ordered, but landing at LAS was smart, in that both LH and AF touched down within a couple of minutes of each other. But ...

Which airline had the other 732? Nolinor?

I guess it came from Raglan.
However, I'm not entirely sure.

Re: Two Condor flights between FRA & YYZ today August 6th?

However, the rescue DE 753 yesterday diverted to YUL once again, didn't it ? Sitting in the FRA-YUL LH A340 yesterday I was quite surprised to see a DE 753 taking off in Frankfurt heading to Toronto. I was even more surprised when I saw the verysame DE 753 once again after landing in Montreal. Were ...

Is boarding music still that common at all? I remember boarding BA aircrafts on longhaul flights when they played classical music which made you feel kind of royal in way. Do they still play classical music on longhaul flights? I've only flown on BA for shorthaul flights recently, where they definit...

Where can I see most of them these days?

I know there are quite in KEF, as well as EWR due to UA.
However, I guess ATL is number 1 because most Delta 757s are Atlanta based?

Yes. That would be Liberty Station. Go right up to the fenced-in approach-light installation, by the water. Best spotting view you'll get for 9.

Thanks guys! Probably the best in SAN!

Nine is used during unusual wx conditions; today, I assume, is due to strong Santana winds blowing from the east. Hard to say how long the situation will last but as you can imagine, it's kind of a chore to switch back and forth between ops using 9 or 27.... Liberty Station might offer some good sp...

The LH A340s got a new interior recently and at least in Y are the far better experience than the BA 787s (which have the worst longhaul Economy class of all major airlines out there). F and C should be on par. So true! The LH A340 is really awesome even though the future belongs to the 787. The A3...
