I was wondering if there's any current list of rare aircraft types that are still in service and what routes they're used on. Just looked up if Motor Sich was still existing and if they still operate their old An24 and was happy to see that that's the case. But as we're seeing a rather quick transit...Jump to post
I think it's a great and logical move. SK is very very focused on CPH for their longhaul operation and both ARN will like the added attention.Jump to post
I wouldn't be too surprised if Russia accidentally intercepts a few EU airliners in the future for some political leverage.
Europe is a nice idea but a very weak and dependent region. I don't even expect any serious reaction to Belarus now.

How can Spain to the Maldives be a market? Must be one of the least expected routes this yearJump to post
That does look promising. I've always wondered if it wouldn't make sense for airlines to announce their menu like 1-2 weeks in advance and let passengers choose before they fly. Even though not all passengers would use such an option but you could make those who preordered a specific meal combinatio...Jump to post
The news that we were all waiting for about 5-10 years ago. Back then it would have been an important project for Boeing and today it's just a jokeJump to post
JFK is much more constraint and much more competitive than you'd like a hub to be. With a lot of O&D traffic for New York it just doesn't make much sense to hand out seats to connecting passengers. I've only ever flown to JFK once on the nonstop DL107 service from FRA and that was when I was sta...Jump to post
I don't think they would go for the 338. That wouldn't make much sense to me. I rather see them order the 321 XLR for less popular 332 routes and use the 789 for more popular 332 routes.Jump to post
As neither the US nor Iran have a real interest in normalizing their relations I can't imagine that we will see any development over the next 4 years unless we witness a revolution in Iran. The current administration will never let go of their nuclear plans and considering what they dream about it's...Jump to post
Bombs are found almost every week here in the Cologne area. It has become such a normal annoyance. If you dig anywhere in Cologne you either find Roman ruins/artefacts or WW2 bombsJump to post
The harsh reactions by some US states were in response to the irresponsible behavior of the federal government as a way to protect themselves. If a new US adminstration wants cooperation with Europe again I don't think we'll see more restrictions but a controlled opening instead. Looking at statisti...Jump to post
With a new US administration coming into office in January, can we expect any changes to the current travel ban for people that have been within Europe (except a few exceptions) 14 days before their arrival in the US? Of course the current state of the pandemic requires certain measurements onboard ...Jump to post
Stupid PR stunt. Will the do same for A380 if the A380 is also with drawn from services?? So you would rather that do nothing? Has the A380 been in service 50 years? I’m not saying they wouldn’t do it for the A380 but I would have my doubts. Yes - it's a waste of money at time when BA is loosing mo...Jump to post
Long time ago I started to notice that Chinese characters on aircrafts are written from left to right on the left side of the plane but written from right to left on the right side of the plane. Just take a look at a MU aircraft from both sides and you'll see what I mean. I've only ever noticed this...Jump to post
Germany just recently lifted the ban for Airlines from Iran. Strange IR not selected Hamburg, AFAIK the city with the largest Iranian dispora in Germany. But IR is serving HAM for years already. The decision to go for DUS seems a bit odd as they already serve CGN and could easily expand their opera...Jump to post
1 or 2 years ago I was considering to apply for the FRA base but the requirement was to have a either US citizenship or a greencard so I assume all the employees would have at least a greencard and be allowed to relocate to the US but I doubt anyone would consider this in the current situation.Jump to post
Adding the 787 now would just make the fleet more complex again. DL decided for an Airbus longhaul fleet and they had good reasons to do so. Considering Boeing's ridiculous reaction when DL decided to buy the C Series I cannot imagine that DL would be too happy to buy anything from Boeing unless the...Jump to post
Hope they can fill up the seats and make a little money
Perhaps Qatar will be next to acknowledge Israel and sign a peace pack. Qatar needs all the friends it can get in the Middle East right now. Qatar's best friend Iran won't let that happen and QR definitely needs the Iranian air space as long as the other Gulf countries cut them off. Tehran is alrea...Jump to post
I just can't imagine an LY jet flying over an Arab country and even land there. It just completely contradicts their well-established security concept. LY got its own security staff and I highly doubt the UAE would grant LY any rights at DXB or AUH. Chances are good though that we will see FlyDubai,...Jump to post

Bad idea and even worse name... It used to be the norm that you establish a brand name in a market but for unknown reasons it's too trendy for CEOs today and they have to build up one weirdly named start up after another None of those Joon-Level-whatever nonsense was a good idea and neither is Ocean...Jump to post
Long overdue The horrible bus ride between T3 and T5 was quite a reason avoid an AA flight out of LHR when coming in with BA. Wondering if BA would also bring their remaining T3 flights to T5. Part of the overcrowding is due to LHR's bullshit last minute gate announcements to keep virtually all pass...Jump to post
Just randomly stumbled across the information that Kazakhstan's capital airport got a new IATA code. Previously it was known as TSE which derived from the city's old name Tselinograd but on June 8 they switched to NQZ. I assume it's N for Nur Sultan and QZ for Qazaqstan which is the way Kazakhstan i...Jump to post
As long as Islamic fundamentalists have even a tiny bit of influence on the Gulf countries or rather the Islamic countries in the world as a whole we won't see any normalization. Yes there's some undercover cooperation but officially all those countries want to see Israel being destroyed. I'm surpri...Jump to post
Emirates' fleet policy has been completely insane since they retired the 332. When you just operate two massive aircraft types of just had to backfire at some point because there are so many markets that do not need this sort of capacity.
EK will become a very different airline in the next years.
