I actively go out of my way to fly Emirates, particularly if it's an A380. I always fly in J. I once flew with EY as it was cheaper, and it was an absolute disaster (They weren't even using EY planes) - All I could think of was how I wish i'd paid the extra and flew what I knew. I'll be really sad t...Jump to post
I once accidentally packed a whole packet of chocolate biscuits in to my lunch box.Jump to post
I flew with them in July and the 752 I was on had Chinese writing in the toilet and under the seatbelt signs!
Did a quick check and the frame was ex China Southern. It did make me smile!
Hi, next week I am flying EK from MAN-HKG in J class and the equipment is an A380 all the way there and back. I'm just wondering, as I cannot remember, is there any ports to connect a laptop to where I can watch my own content on the IFE screen? Or a similar thing from say an iPad or an iPhone? I ha...Jump to post
Last week at my work, we were a little bit quieter than usual so a few days instead of ten vans being out doing deliveries there were eight.
The other 2 of them were in the yard parked up. This week all 10 are back on the road.
It's mad how these things happen.
It's luck of the draw I think. In my experience (With some other airlines) you get around the limit for the simple fact that they do not check it. I have seen though people being selected for weighing at the gate itself on some scales. This was at Palma airport. Occasionally, they may also ask you w...Jump to post
Hi, I've been checking the BA website for flights to MIA for a planned trip there in July on holiday. I was looking to go with AA on the new 777-300ER J class they have. I noticed however, BA advertising that their A380 is used on the MIA route. However, when I check this on the booking pages the de...Jump to post
Thanks for the report, really informative and would definitely help somebody (Such as myself) who's yet to fly QR as to whether I'd give them a shot. I had mixed opinions on EY's J class and I've been using EK again since. The A350 looks really nice though! Shame about your connecting flight, it sou...Jump to post
MAN is my local and I travel to Indonesia yearly on business, normally via Singapore. I'd love to take the direct flight SQ are offering, but Christ almighty it's almost double the price in J than it is compared with EK (My usual choice), EY or QR. What gives with such a hike? SQ J is a closer comp...Jump to post

Auckland Airport and the amount of EK A380 traffic they get, I do appreciate they end up there sort of indirectly from DXB however. I remember a picture not long ago and there was 4 lined up on the stands.Jump to post
In my experience of EY the different level of product quality is a big problem in J class. Across 4 aircraft I have had 4 totally different products (From the ridiculous to the sublime). Transfers at T1 is a bit of a problem at AUH and the J class lounge in T1 is a joke. The new lounge in T3 however...Jump to post

I was wondering, why is it that the initial phase is carried out with the gear down? Are they looking to test the performance with the drag it creates? I think it's just for safety reasons. If something happens and they need to return to the airport for an emergency landing asap and the gear doesn'...Jump to post

Its great that they are constantly updating their product, but it certainly means passengers will notice a significant difference when they fly on one of their older aircraft. Unfortunately this is the case sadly. This year I've had two very different experiences with EY flying in J Class. In Febru...Jump to post
I fly TK regular in J on MAN to IST and while you've still got the chance of the old configuration you're more than likely to get the new A321 setup which is a 2+2 with wonderful food and seats! I haven't got the old config now for a good 3 years and they seem to put the newest planes on such routes...Jump to post
I'm glad people are speaking up more about J on EY. It's bloody awful unless you get the A380! I completely agree I took a flight back to MAN from HKG in April with EY purely based on the fact it was £1k cheaper than taking the Emirates flight. WHat a poor decision it turned out to be, I was put on ...Jump to post
I booked a flight in May with EY from HKG-AUH-MAN in J Class. Having had really good experiences with them before, preferring their 777 to EK's I was absolutely horrified when an Air Seychelles A330 rolled up at the gate and we were ushered in to it. Worst J class ever. And the lumbar support in my ...Jump to post
