OAK will be a parking spot for some of the fleet. So I suspect that's where it was heading. Had not heard of OAK being a parking spot, only GSO, OKC and SAT. They always had a strange business model in terms of scheduled flights. They cut everything here at MLB, and now just use it to store their planes and do maintenance. I remember when they had their MLB-BIM flight, they would sometimes have 1 or 2 people per flight. Not even kidding.

During my few times looking at PHL-MCO / MLB flights, MLB was much higher compared to MCO that the extra ~1hr drive to MCO from where I was visiting wasn't an issue. I'm talking $200+ difference. That is exactly it. Makes no sense to drop a huge amount when MCO is a short drive over. We need a LCC ...

Not uncommon. Last year, my aircraft changed multiple times on different legs. Originally, it was MLB-ATL on a MD-88, changed to a 717 then finally to a 737-700. The ATL-LAX leg was a 777, changed to a 757 and finally ended up being an A321.

I wouldn't mind seeing AA fly to DCA from MLB. It makes sense, we had Eastern/Delta/USA3000/Direct Air/Presidential Airways all in the past fly to the Washington area. There has been an explosion in population here with the addition of all these engineering companies lately.

Yep, I'll be on it October 13th. Come November, it is going to a 737-900ER. The 5:30pm flight also goes up to an Airbus A320.

That’s pretty much what I heard. There are four AA Airbus aircraft that I can see, plus an AC Airbus and Elite CRJ sitting over on that maintenance ramp. Good thing people are on high alert. The MRO shop looks pretty busy so I’m guessing they have three shifts going, which helped them catch the guy...

They have 11 CRJs, what is their fleet utilization? Doesn’t seem that high, one sits at SRQ for couple days each week They run quite a bit of charter flights, but for days at a time when passing by MLB i'll see some of their planes parked at gate flying nowhere. The MLB upgage makes a lot of sense. They've reduced down to only 2 flights a day, and will sometimes swap out finished A319's over at the STS Mod Center.

I flew MCO-DTW for 42 bucks RT two weeks ago. It's a really great option if you know how to use them properly. As long as they have cheap fares, people will continue to fly them.

Not anytime soon, they're ferrying quite a bunch of A320's here to MLB to be fitted with WiFi, so I doubt they'll waste that investment.
