Re: TWA L1011 service from PHL-STL

Thank you for the responses. The flight back (STL-PHL) was on the L1011. I believe the original flight arrival into PHL was 4:00 pm. But the flight I was on on January 7, 1987 was 4 hours late bc of a flap problem. I was only 11 and flying with my younger sister solo. I also remember watching tough ...

TWA L1011 service from PHL-STL

Good afternoon all...I have tried to look all over but had no luck. Back on December 19, 1986 I flew from PHL to STL on an L1011 (then flew to MLI on a DC-9). I am trying to find out where the PHL-STL flight went on from STL. I do remember that the flight left at about 6:30 am from PHL. Anyone have ...

I call BS-no way southwest will/would acquire Hawaiian.

And by the way, frank Lorenzo is restarting Texas air.

And the source of the original thread is probably fake news CNN. :D

It’s actually more than that. I live in Seymour and it’s 1.25 hours to IND (if lucky) and 1 hour to SDF.

The "foot print" of the old terminal at RSW is still visible. For some reason it's not letting me post a satellite picture of it.

Re: Indianapolis Aviation Thread

There have been times I have driven to Cincinnati to fly out bc it is sometimes much cheaper. It's easy to get to as well. And the money saved is sometimes still more than driving up 65 to IND.

Re: Could a small airline fly throughout the Midwest?

Cape air flies out of STL to several small destinations in MO if I'm not mistaken. They also used to fly IND to SBN and EVV but that service didn't last long at all. They couldn't even half fill the flights at times so they pulled the plug.

I think IND is a very nice airport. Much better than the dungeon they had prior to 2008 lol

Re: Phase out of Jetstream J31

The J-31 was a small and cramped plane. I remember flying LAF-DAY (USAir express) in 1991 and again in 1999 (LAN-MDW on Chicago express). Good thing I was not afraid of small spaces.

Will Not/can't happen. Midway is surrounded/boxed in by city blocks. Not unless they plan to buy quite a few blocks.

Didn't Ozark fly FLL-MIA? I thought I recall reading it but it was more of a positioning flight

How much more load can MDW handle? It seems like they would be bursting at the seams by now

Anyone remember the infra-Florida flying that ATA did from PIE? I remember flying IND-PIE-FLL.

That was after the drunken idiot shoved a flight attendant and tried to leave the plane. So yes, the pilot did get him to the ground-otherwise who knows what that tool would have done.

Re: Indiana Aviation: Part 16

Quite interesting indeed-I would love to see Alaska start service to IND-never have flown them but since I'm back in Indiana-I would definitely try them. I would agree that delta does not seem too interested in IND-definitely not like Northwest did. With southwest restarting IND-MDW again (just took...

Delta MD-90 question

Hello all! I just got back from Arizona (PHX-MSP-IND-with red eye flight). The flight from PHX was on an MD-90 (my first time in one). The take off roll seemed to be very short. It seemed like the plane had a lot of power but are short take off rolls normal for an MD-90? And anyone know why that fli...

I know it's not 1991 but I remember taking an L1011 from PHL-STL (then DC-9 to MLI) in December 1986.
