It's timeless! Stop messing with liveries! Most of the airlines end up trashing their brands lately. Japan Airlines, Finnair, Lufthansa, Iberia, Aer Lingus... the list goes on. Being a bit contradictory, I must say I really enjoyed this rendering of a concept new livery of Korean. If they change to...Jump to post
Looks great. Does anyone know for sure what model seat that is? I see people mentioning Thompson Vantage but it looks more like a Stelia model to me from the side table setup, though I don’t recall ever seeing them with doors before. Looks like Thompson Vantage XL to me. Stelia Solstys seats have o...Jump to post

Just quickly, on your final question, I was a great admirer of the work Pentagram did on the finishes for UA’s IPTE interiors, Teague has done some excellent work (new Air Canada cabins, Westjet 787), LIFT’s work with Philippine Airlines has been very good, I think. Tangerine and FactoryDesign have ...Jump to post
Good to see the usual well-reasoned criticisms of a new livery! Personally I like it more each time I look at it. I can see why some people might get a superficial Aeroflot vibe but Lufthansa? Aside from a blue tail and white logo I don’t see the similarity at all. Do people really think an SA...Jump to post
I love it!
Simple, elegant and distinctive. I would agree with the concern about the fuselage logo being a bit hard to read in some light conditions but I think it’s mitigated by also having it on the tail so for me the effect is subtle rather than indistinct.
Well done, SAS.
Amusingly predictable to see the usual Boeing cultists screeching about fake news.Jump to post
I like it. It’s not exciting but I think it looks fresh and smart. I really like the gradient on the tail and the slogan near the nose.
Very pleased they dumped the gold which a I thought was very dated and didn’t fit with any other branding elements they use.

I’m very much enjoying these write-ups and appreciate your effort doing them and sharing them here.
Can someone show me another Economy seat that is being used on the 350? I want to say that was the onl option for a line fit. There is a reason DL only has them the economy seat on the 350, the redone 777, 339, and 764s wont have the same economy seat. I’ve flown economy on the A350 on Finnair, Qat...Jump to post
I like the First Class seat, Prem econ would be fine for me, but I agree, for Virgin I expect to be blown away. They are the trend-setter. It appears maybe daddy DL is sucking the individuality out of VS, I fear this at least. As far as coach, they need to ditch asap before they waste any money on ...Jump to post
Interesting that they went for the option of the two centre seats facing away from each other and towards the aisle in UC. I knew Safran (then Zodiac) was offering it for the next generation Cirrus but I didn’t think anyone would order it. I wonder why they chose that? I think I’m in the minority bu...Jump to post

But Lion Air crashed two airplanes just a couple of months apart. So are you saying the 737-800 and -900 should be grounded as well because Lion Air had a number of runway excursions (one ending in water) with them? No? OK, I was worried there for a second you'd lost all sense of commensurability. ...Jump to post
I very much like the globe logo itself but hope they ditch the gold. I think it’s rather dated and doesn’t fit with the graphic elements they use elsewhere. I think a shades-of-blue application could work well and I’d like to see them incorporate some of the other colours they’re using in the recent...Jump to post

It'll fit in nicely with their Boston Celtics livery as well...
Disappointing yet unsurprising to see far right freaks and losers defending this trash. They really love consequencefree speech, don’t they?Jump to post
I believe KLM is the launch customer for the Jamco Venture business class seat. I wonder if that had anything to do with Zodiac’s production and quality issue and, if so, whether Air France might follow suit.Jump to post
It’S a shame that a couple in instances of poor service can undermine an otherwise solid product. Your photos were excellent, thanks for sharing your experience.Jump to post
Very nice detailed report, thanks for sharing.
The food looks quite tasty.
I think Zach Honig is one of the less DYKWIA travel bloggers out there and accusing any customer of being a drunk because they ask for a drink that’s on the menu is ridiculous. It would be a bit like saying a customer is a glutton for requesting a meal. If this woman is, in fact, a United employee h...Jump to post
I do rather wish they’d come up with something other than “The Spirit Of Canada”. I liked what ANA did with “Inspiration of JAPAN” which I assume was intended to make clear where they were from for those who didn’t know. Hopefully someone consults a thesaurus and it can be replaced with something el...Jump to post
Beautiful finishes in that cabin.Jump to post
I’m really looking forward to seeing how they’ve customised the Stella seat. I love Soletys and SQ’s cabins tend to look gorgeous. I assume they’re the launch customer for Opal?Jump to post
Thanks for posting.
Now let's not get too carried away. Lufthansa has ruined their brand, yes. Yes, we wouldn't want to be hyperbolic here! I'm not a fan of this at first glance. I liked the colour gradient and title on the tail and I don't think that the downward curve on the blue underbelly adds anything. Oh, ...Jump to post

Didn't Biman Bangladesh experiment with a new green livery on the 737-800's around 2010 then quickly went back to the classic one? This is the one that came to mind for me. IIRC they had some 777s in that livery also. I thought it was very attractive but from memory it was thought to not be represe...Jump to post
Hi, first post A.net. Must say I like the new livery, the lack of gray belly makes it fresh, though i do think they need the yellow. that being said, thought i'd make my own livery http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd366/candyman1101/747-8i_Lufthansa%20New.jpg~original Regards Welcome! Not exciting but classy and sleek, IMO. I wasn't especially attached to the yellow and I prefer the new shade of blue.Jump to post
No offense but none of the amateur designs that have been posted here look like anything Lufthansa would want to put on their planes of years to come. The newest one looks like the plane has got a rash on it's face or a beard or whatever. And that is true for almost every thread about an airline ge...Jump to post

I gave it a go, had to keep it low to make room for the titles.
While I like the current (I think perhaps slightly violet?) blue, I think a subdued darker and cooler tone would look more contemporary and suit the aesthetics that Lutfthansa seems to be leaning towards with their recent cabin colour palette.
Looking forward to seeing what they have come up with.
It may not be perfect, but A- Those are only mock-up images from Stelia. I am sure SQ and their designers will customise it heavily. B- It will be used on flights of 8hrs and less, replacing a product that is angled flat and lacks direct aisle access. This would be a huge upgrade. Interested to see ...Jump to post
It would be interesting to see what kind of Frankensteins's monster would result from a designer trying to accommodate everyone's preferences for a new livery! :) I like the current one well enough and I doubt any overhaul would be very radical. I always associate Lufthansa with professionalism and ...Jump to post
