While I think this may all be technically possible, I suspect that emergency evacuation in the event of fire may be the show-stopper. Actually, they could let the water from the pool be accessible by the fire pumps in the building. Drain it put the fire out, and the people in the pool will be high ...

Ansett I had flown them domestically for years ( was a Platinum flyer when they went bust) But the best flight was on one of the leased 743's they had in the fleet from SQ. It was the best international I had flown in a long time. Only draw back was they had the Brady Bunch movie as the main feature...

noticed of flight radar that QF81 is being flown buy the 380 between 5th -13th July inclusive, is this due to shortage of 330's due mx etc. or a boost for school holiday traffic ?

A few months back cabin crew told me that QF51/52 would be going back to 744, so maybe they could go that way and put the 330 back into domestic ops / Per- Sin

Perhaps the new CEO will come to realise that the current VA international network is all for looks and glamour, and will cut back and use the global partners , concentrate on Aus domestic and Trans Tasman routes which is about all they really need. Just another reason to avoid Emirates. On the news this morning it said it would make flights faster, I assume there is some airflow interruption from the breaks in the fuselage , but the difference would be minimal.
