Re: NYC (JFK/EWR/LGA/SWF/HPN/ISP) Aviation Thread - 2021

UA's JFK legacy services and aircraft were: JFK-LAX/SFO 767-200, then 757-200 with the launch of PS. Every once in a while, a 763 was subbed on JFK-SFO. JFK-SEA 757, then A320 JFK-LHR 767-300ER 3 x daily, including a daylight service, reduced to a single 777-200ER before being cut. When first launc...

Re: 15 Years ago today- Last B717 delivered

AirTran was not clamoring for more 717s. They ordered 737s instead of more 717s because the 737 carried more passengers for roughly similar operating costs. AirTran was actually clamoring for the 717-300 stretch. And an ER variant. Boeing did not oblige as they had the leverage to drive AirTran tow...

Regarding the couple of gates at the new T1 that I mentioned would be capable of handling Stage 5 aircraft (up to 747s), they are being included in the design just in case at some point, a carrier that might use a 747, A350, etc., might end up living in or using T1. Overflow would be another reason...
