It's been a few years since I've spotted at DL 757 at ORD.. 4-5 years off the top of my head, I think. Not sure if I've been unlucky or simply unaware? Does anyone what route the one below was flying, and is she a regular or was it a sub, or maybe DL's upgauged one of their routes recently? 5884803...Jump to post
I believe a large reason why Air Canada deploys wide-bodies on the route is the MAX grounding, they're low on capacity right now. AC regularly deployed widebodies on the YYZ-SFO and YYZ-LAX routes (among multiple other transborder routes) long before the MAX grounding happened. I think that's got m...Jump to post
There was a segment on KTVZ last night regarding a Redmond City council meeting where the future of RDM was discussed. The airport director mentioned expanding the terminal to include more restaurants and shops as well as adding jet bridges. In its current configuration, I can't imagine jet bridges ...Jump to post
I am not going to argue, but I still stand by my statement that MSP operates fairly well during snowstorms. Yes, 2 runways were closed during this snowstorm, but the airport typically operates on only 2 or 3 runways. Part of it is the deicing pads located near both ends of the two main runways allow...Jump to post
The City of Chicago is incompetent when it comes to keeping a runway open. Downright awful. How the airlines continue to put up with this is beyond me. What major airport is able to keep all runways open during a snow storm? Before coming to Willis Tower I spent 18 years on the ramp at ORD and if t...Jump to post
Looks like the much awaited ship 1010 Actually this is Ship 1011. This one got painted at CHS... still no B1 as of yet. Ship 1010 ferried on B2 to FTW for painting..... still there. Currently on the CHS FAL are Ship 0975, followed by ship 1012. 1010 should be ferrying out in a little bit. Someone i...Jump to post
Who knows where they will take place - VCV, FTW, LCQ, CWF? Seems like AMA does narrowbodies. LCQ can only handle up to a 763, and FTW only has one hangar. FTW is also almost always being used by Boeing to paint the new 787s. I would guess VCV, as they have 2 paint hangars capable of handling wide-b...Jump to post
The wings needed re-painting...... What is the point in just re-painting the wings? I know it is certainly cheaper than a total re-paint, but these aircraft are going to get a complete re-paint within a few years anyways. Aircraft was out of service for 10+ days anyways. It’s under warranty so why ...Jump to post

763 N767UA UA2750 EWRLCQ 28OCT Supposedly also for paint... IAC does have a facility there so.... There is doubt on N36962 being painted at VCV... it’s scheduled time there seems too short (5NOV) :scratchchin:  No way they are painting a 789 in less than 10 days. And 738 N73275 ferried IAHGYR last night as well... certainly not to retire. Could this be the StarWars.. or was that to be a 739ER?
Looks like N167GJ flew AMA-STL tonight as G7 7552. Nothing went into the paint shop for it and nothing scheduled. I'd have to imagine N449UA will be out sometime before the end of the week. Also looks like UA2730 B764 was scheduled to ferry EWR-VCV 10/7, but this has been cancelled. Perhaps they thi...Jump to post

A lot of the choice of aircraft/helicopter use comes down to the area. In mountainous areas with lakes, helicopters are certainly preferable as they can refill their buckets quite easily. If there are no lakes to refill in, it is advantageous to use the large tankers as this is the quickest way to d...Jump to post
After reading all of the comments about Doug Parker, the question I have is whether the unions now regret supporting Parker and his efforts to have US buy AA out of bankruptcy. Any thoughts? Of course, the unions initially like every AA CEO, grew to dislike him strongly, then missed him when the ne...Jump to post

Saw an AN-124 pass right in front of the 739 I was on as we were waiting in line for take off. That Russian flag on its big tail was an interesting sight. Looks like Spirit dropped MSP-ORD back in April. As the article says, it was done "quietly." Is runway 4R/22L even used anymore? I remember regularly seeing JL 747's and Northwest Cargo 747's, among others, lining up to land on 4R by the minute around 10 years ago. Yes!
