Tbh I am surprised Star Alliance never courted WY, given they have a big gap in the Gulf region. What a fantastic report on what sounds like a fantastic flight.
Japanese Airlines are always impressive no matter what class you are travelling in.
Given these times of isolation, it was so enjoyable to read this, especially given I was in Japan in November (flying JAL Melbourne-Narita-Helsinki).

The hysteria and mayhem over Perth losing a flight for about 6 weeks is ridiculous. You guys do realise this is impacting some 95% of the entire EK network and not just Perth. The way it’s being discussed is a typical Perth attitude. Where only Perth, and only Perth exists.

It made no sense really, flying a small airbus 321 on such a local distance and having it on the ground for such a long time. If the yield was mega amazing I get it, but I doubt that was ever the case. Or if it was a larger airbus 330 for economies of scale it could’ve worked.

Smart movie really considering that both UA and AA will be offline during the winter months from March onwards. This displaced capacity will be picked up by Hawainn Airlines to some extent. Hopefuly they will go daily in the not too distant future.
