Not much on this article but very interesting: bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-06-15/cathay-pacific-studying-new-aircraft-order-for-regional-routes I am assuming this is to replace the 330's but I'm not sure. I'm not sure if the word "regional" refers to the A330 or 777-300. The CEO said ...
Jump to postI heard back in 2011 that they placed an order with Boeing for 787, 777F but however the 787 order was cut. I went to Boeing and searched Hong Kong Airlines, it shows that they still have 6 777F on the books. Is this order still happening or on hold? boeing.com/commercial/customers/hong-kong-airline...
Jump to postI've always wondered about this for so long.
Jump to postI think a feasible option would be to order A350ULR or the NEO, I prefer a fleet simplification of Airbus in CX fleet rather than operating mix of AB/BOEING. THE A350 would be a pretty choice to replace older 777's at the moment
Jump to postI was hoping that CX was to convert the much plagued & expensive 777x order to the medium 787-10. I believe 787-10 is the right aircraft that CX needs, the post pandemic recovery will see much lower passenger demand. Now that the order is deferred beyond 2025, the carrier remains focused on pass...

Jump to postLooking back at an old article from Australian Aviation from 2011: australianaviation.com.au/2011/04/qantas-freight-considering-747-8f-777f/, I always highly doubted why they didn't they purchase some 777 freighters instead of relying on the sole 767 & outsourcing 747 operations.
