I know that many of FI's 767 routes, were upgauged because they wanted to carry more cargo, and FI carries tons of fish in its aircrafts belly. Sad to hear it affects the one of Iceland's main economic sectors and people's jobs.

I guess there isnt much pax traffic between those two suggested routes, but those flights will be of diplomatic reasons and may carry alot of cargo between those routes(probably weapons and ammunition).

I find BNA-YYC to be an extremely odd route. YYC has no flights to BOS, WAS or ATL but has a flight to BNA? Odd... Well...it's only 2x a week, but yes it is an odd route. But WR does fly BNA-YYZ. So it makes a little more sense. Well its still weird, especially that they compete with AC on BNA-YYZ....

I think their biggest problem is Inter-Asian flights. Alot of competition from LCCs and alot of low yielding markets. I think their Long Haul routes have better yields and less competition and it seems they are dominating the NA-HKG flights.

They requested slots so its not clear if they will fly this summer or not. But does the TLV-KEF flight is going to arrive in time for the WOW flight banks to NA and the opposite? Anyway, hope this comes to frutation and WOW and FI continue growing!

Helsinki seems to be perfectly located for Europe-Asia bound traffic but it also seems to be located under USA-ME3 bound traffic. Wonder why HEL and AY/One World has not tried to benefit this location for USA-INDIA/ASIA via HEL. I think that LAX-DBX-DEL would meet nice competition with LAX-HEL-DEL....

As said above its about serving connecting traffic and maybe a little bit of O&D traffic to Amsterdam. KLM also flies to OSL so the TRF flight might be more comfortable for people in parts of southern Norway than the OSL flight. Plus they have a monopoly on that route.

My favourite segment length is about 1 hour, like LAX-SFO, MIA-TPA or LGA-BOS. For me the worst is 5 hours, because mostly you dont have enough time to sleep, usually there is no entertainment and time passes slowly. If its a longhaul flight, I rather fly non-stop than splitting the flight.

I think this airport is mostly going to serve domestic operations to TLV and Haifa, and IIRC thats a huge market. The international market from Eilat dosent seem so big, I guess Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada takes most of the beach tourists in the area.
