Give the lisbon treaty 'NO' by Ireland, the French & Dutch 'NO' to the original constitution, the Dainish 'NO' on Maastrict and the Irish 'NO' on Nice - it should be pretty clear what the message is. If the Irish do vote again I hope the NO vote is even larger. (just as it may have been if the Frenc...Jump to post
"Nobody here said that we should force Ireland or France or the Netherlands to vote again" Maybe not here but Sarkozy has said such a thing re Ireland which reinforces the fact that the eu is ignoring the democratic process of a sovereign nation. According to its own rules the lisbon treaty is dead ...Jump to post
I believe that the UK wanted to join from the start but was refused entry by CDG (on account the CAP & other protectionist schemes was not fully in place) When north sea oil came on line then minds were soon changed a...Jump to post
The Santer commission for starters - mass resignations / fraud cases etc The fact that the eu accounts have not been signed off for the last 11 years by the eu own auditors is a tad suspicious - if that were a private company then heads would role and legal proceedings started. Eu commission is unel...Jump to post
Why should I question my perception of the EU ? - (do you question yours?) it is what it is - corrupt, unaccountable and increasingly unpopular. (not just in the UK - remember we did not reject Lisbon, the Constitution (first time round), Maastrict or Nice treaties - all of which have been rejected ...Jump to post
Another thing to consider is that what the people of europe want and the leaders of europe want are not necesaarily the same thing. Yes to stability, trade No to a perceived loss of national identity, loss of abiitity to self govern, loss of ability to look after their countries own interests first,...Jump to post
All my pictures were removed some time ago and I hope that in time they will cease to be in any back ups the site may have taken and that the older backups are destroyed.
There is no chance I will be asking for mine to be restored.
Still no reply from DM to the concerns raised in this thread despite Monique being active in Site Related + comments made on the equivalvent thread there. This shows the continued contempt towards the photographers and is not helping the already poor i...Jump to post
can somebody from DM look at (and REPLY to) the thread in the photography forum as people (myself included) still have major concerns over the new TOU's - mainly the 'through the service' element and what this might mean in the future. The lack of comm...Jump to post
The last reply from DM was No 112 on 9th March - it is now the 12th so more poor communication as usual. Perhaps they think this problem will go away - well it will when people start deleting pics. First thing you do when in a hole is stop digging so c...Jump to post
The new TOU's are still unacceptable as 'through the service' is still present without being clearly defined. As stated above 'through the service' could mean anything and if some function is offered tihs way then the photographer gets no say. I do not really want to delete my 2300 images but that i...Jump to post
'Through the service' is not an acceptable term as there is no clarity as to what the service actually is. If it is just the postcards / links then fine but who knows what DM might add as being available 'through the service' in future and without phot...Jump to post

yes it is a problem - 2 tries at TOU's for photographers and still they are not right (but slightly better than the first try)
Email sent to support raising my concerns and not accepting the new TOU's as they currently stand.
No email here either.

Still not keen on 4B of the new tou's - namely "This limited license only allows Airliners to use your User Photos on or through the Service." It is the "through the service" that is of concern (to me) as we have no idea how DM want to expand and anyth...Jump to post
Granite, a brave and accurate post which sums up very well how I (and a lot of other feel) Plenty of people will be waiting for the revised TOU before making a decision one way or the other. sorry guys but the whole set up stinks - DM are really pushing their luck with the members of this site and it will / has rebounded big time. message to DM - first thing you do when you are in a hole is to stop digging! English first & foremost, British second & european only by an accident of geography. As an earlier poster said when arriving back in the uk it is sad to join queue for eu citizens when most brits would not consider themselves as such. Casino royale did nothing for me - take the 'James Bond' hype (such as it was) out of it and you are left with a mediocre, long film with the best action at the very start and none of the features that are characteristic of bond films (humour/gadgets/Q are 3 that were sadly lacking)Jump to post
Mrs Thatcher - strong willed, honest - never a hint of sleeze with her. Stood up to the eu when our rebate was in question, led the country through the Falklands war. It is a real pity that the current crop of leaders cannot be more like her.Jump to post

Just give it time. Many years ago (1980's) i did a coach trip in Czechoslovakia and the guide could not understand why, when she pointed out the Skoda factory, the passengers laughed. the countries applying to become members are those poorer nations who can see the eu as a way to get easy money rather than have to work & grow at their own pace. It might be a different story if a country would receive money but only if it gave more than it got back (ie UK)
How about Johan - after all he will be loooking for something to do having sold the site.
Would put a bet on Tony (there are wmd in Iraq) Bliar being involved somehow - despite being loathed at home he is still popular with france / germany and it is those leaders that really matter.
Sebolino, the 'old' constitution and 'new' treaty are almost identical - that has been stated by numerous politicians / study groups from all over the eu. Other treaties have been rejected by individual countries (Maastrict / Nice to name 2) but as is the case with the eu - the wishes of the people ...Jump to post
Klaus, it was not us that rejected the constitution first time around - we never got the chance to.
