Big wind storm here today. KSEA tower is an interesting LiveATC listen right now. Winds currently 200 at 35kt gust 41kt.

My perspective it's that it's because it's a leisure destination. Don't the bigger airlines focus their new upscale options on bigger business markets? Doesn't mean they won't fly the a380 there though.

Looking all the way back in that footage, it is amazing it didn't crash into any buildings or hit the bridge. If the pilots were at the controls, it looks as if their efforts saved many lives.

As has been discussed and such thing would need to be a completely new airplane with a new wing and new fuselage. It is my understanding that all the tools are gone. They'd have to start from scratch. There's no way to do a MAX or NEO 757.

Interesting they initially said 2:40am then immediately changed it to the widely discussed 1:30am. Now with the release of radar info of it in the Malaccan Straight they go back to 2:40am. This is worth questioning. This keeps getting weirder.

Watch the rudder. Pilot makes a last second adjustment, probably due to a gust at touchdown. This adjustment forces the plane to crab more to the left which is adjusted for. Hmmm. Yes please! Saturate this market more please! I'd just like some tv to watch for the 5 hr trip. I knew the 320s had etops but never knew why nobody used them to come out here. I suppose the only airlines that fly here just used their proven 737s.

I have to be honest. While I really believe the retro livery thing can work great when simple and done right. I think US Airways has the best "newer" livery. It's very elegant. Especially in these days of swooshes and euro white.
