Re: Air Canada News and Discussion - 2024

Could we see more Asia Pacific expansion by AC for the end of this year? MEL, MNL, TPE? :crossfingers: for MEL. Yeah, of the three mentioned, only MEL has a chance, even then it will only likely be seasonal. MNL is a low yield-high volume route, AC attempting to compete with anything other than the...

Re: Airbus A220 Production / Deliveries - 2024

Are you sure of the opposite delivery order and the fly away dates ? I am confused because 'aviation.flights' shows delivery flight as 18/MAR for #55267 YMX-JFK and 21/MAR for #55268 BFM-YMX. For #55267, it's strange to have the fly away flight the same day as the delivery by contract date. That al...

Re: A220 in Europe’s Airlines strategy

Could the A220 suit EI to do some TATL routes to 2nd/3rd tier ports in North America? Or is TATL on the A220 just not economical for such long routes, even though they can technically do them? I would be really interested in the overall “longhaul“-performance of the A220 in the 4000-6000km sector. ...

Re: Air Canada News and Discussion - 2024

Agreed. I think the 330s are the best plane for AC in West Africa. They are dense, have the belly space, and are paid off, so they can be parked at no cost if a route isn't working. Once the 787-10 and XLRs arrive in two years, we will see the low haul fleet shuffled around to right-size routes and...
