I have been away from this site for a long time, but I need some advice about some gear and figured that some of the experts here could assist me. Recently I did a photo shoot for an organization who is having a national convention later this summer. They want me to take some portrait-type shots for...

Jump to postYeah, who cares as long as YOU, the flying public, are not inconvenienced. Let the management who, through inepitude and mismanagement, got the company into such a mess now walk all over the workers. It's all good as long as you get your $99 ticket. Scabs need to remember one thing: The stigma of cr...
Jump to postI've been reading this off an on during my breaks all day... I love it when people who don't know anything about my job try to tell me what salary I should be making. For the record, I do not make six figures, although our mechanics are among the highest paid in the industry. There are very few jobs...
Jump to postWell, it's AMT Day again (at least for a few more hours) and I chose to break my silence and just say "Happy AMT Day". Last year, this thread turned into an ugly discussion about "maintainers" vs "mechanics". For a good laugh as you stroll down memory lane, read this: <a href="http://www.airliners.n...
Jump to postThanks, DLKAPA. That seems to work beautifully for a visible watermark.
Jump to postNo these are some pictures that I took for an organization and several copies of these pictures will end up in a number of peoples' hands. I will be asking these people to use the pictures for personal use, but you know how that goes. I'm just trying to cut down on unauthorized use.
Jump to postI'm looking for a quality, inexpensive program to digitally and visibly watermark some of my images in order to protect them. Have any of you had much experience with these type of programs and could you give me any advice/recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
Nevermind guys, carefully applied isopropyl alcohol worked just fine on the Sharpie...
Jump to postI was fortunate enough to have Herb and Colleen sign some prints of mine that I intend to have matted and framed so they can be raffled off for charity. In the process, Colleen made a mistake on one of the prints drawing a heart or something, then signed it in another spot. Also, during the time the...
Jump to post***UPDATE***
The evaluation period is over and the results were disappointing. The three aircraft will now be de-rigged by maintenance.

As I mentioned in another thread, all it turned out to be was that CNN came to the maintenance facility to interview Herb. That's the story I'm getting around here. That's all it was.
Jump to postSo here's the skinny on the announcement...
The story around here is that CNN came to interview Herb. The C-check boys left their plane in the hangar as a back drop for the interview...
That's it. That's the big news.
As I mentioned in another thread... Take this with a grain of salt, but the C-Check mechanics were told to leave their plane in the hangar this morning for Herb to use as a backdrop for a press conference. They were told by their supervisor that we were going to announce service to Mexico. However, ...

Jump to postAs far as the new -700 that got damaged in the towing accident, it has made things very interesting for us here in Heavy MX. Cheney voices concern that Israel may attack Iran
He is saying that he is concerned that Israel might attack Iran, he's not giving the OK.
Seal it for fit, paint it for show.
I've always heard a variation of this theme:
Beat to fit, paint to match.
Because they were "putting the plane to bed".

Jump to postActually, it's a sad day for me... as one of my photographs was used to in order to try and make a completely ignorant and ridiculous point:
Decades between these 2 airplanes and NO difference!...
I've thought about chiming in on this topic too, but does it really matter? In the end, if you really want to do it, you're gonna do it no matter what anyone says. Besides, MxCtrlr said it about as succinctly as anyone could. My advice would be to not put yourself through it, especially if you have ...

Jump to postMoman, that is an incredibly weak argument. Capitalism is about survival of the fittest. Jump to postI took a look at the winglet mod status and here are the numbers:
There are 117 aircraft with the mod already installed out of 172; which means that the 68% of the -700 fleet is fitted with winglets. 55 aircraft remain and the planned completion date is sometime in the 1st Q 2005.
