I had a whole raft of Fly Past magazines in pristine condition which are available for sale at a nominal price. Would any one be interested?
Jump to postIn short, you need to upgrade to a DSLR. Canon produce good bodies at the budget end. A comprehensive guide to locations can be found here. https://www.spotterguide.net/
Jump to postThere is no issue with the sensor. The 100-400mm Mk1 will be soft towards 350-400mm. Second, you need some good light and conditions for perfect photos. In my view, digital is actually very unforgiving! Third, I'm not a great fan of the internal settings with Canon, i.e. adjusting the colours and sh...
Jump to postI have a quantity of Fly Past Magazines to dispose of, circa 1992 to about 2005. Open to offers. Will deliver in the LHR or LGW area. Message me here.
Jump to postAnd just to add, the employee may face a disciplinary due to his untoward behaviour. Not exactly customer friendly!
Jump to postIn the UK, the employee would have breached Data Protection laws by obtaining the individual's private number by accessing his employer's IT systems. Then by texting her during the flight is harassment, pure and simple. Ten out of ten to the passenger for retaining the texts and suing the airline. H...
Jump to postPlease could someone share the process flow for saving images with 72 dpi in PS? I tend to go for 200 dpi as it automatically resizes to 1200 by 800 but alot of photographers manage dpi of 72 with greater quality. Something is going wrong! So can the experts explain all?
Jump to postBut what is the local infrastructure like? For example, are new airport hotels being built? Is there a fast transit link to the centre of Istanbul? While I appreciate that IST had issues, at least it was functional!
Jump to postThe new IST aiports is supposed to open on Republic Day on the 29th October. I would like to know if the locals think whether this will realistically happen.
Jump to postDouble Eagle charge $200 for an overflight of AMARC, and for AMARC with Marana, $420.
Jump to postI hope Gulf Air fights back. It would be a shame to lose one another classic airline.
Jump to postPlease could someone provide an update on: - when IST is scheduled to close; - when the new IST is scheduled to open. (It is appreciated that there may be some crossover and no clear cut-off.) - and lastly whether there are going to be any suitable photography locations at the new IST. It is appreci...
Jump to postTC957 - It would done of an evening/night when it is cooler and the air denser.
Readytotaxi - Usually fly some guys out to supervise with locals or do the lot.
It seems to me that virtually all static shots on this website these days have had the background brightness photoshopped down to make the aircraft stand out and look a brilliant white. You get photos that do look stunning - albeit slightly unnatural. Is this what people are doing? I'd also be inte...

There very well may be cliques, but one doesn't have to join a clique.
I thought this thread would be about the G-VIIH photo. I can't believe someone just happened to be in the right place at the right time to capture it.

Jump to postCloning is far more prevalent than you think and I know that some Screeners do it to tidy up their photos!
Jump to postIn reply to tofur, on some long-haul routes the BA crew do get a reasonable amount of downtime but I appreciate it varies.

Unpaid wages claims come under the legal heading of "unlawful deduction of wages". These claims are heard by Employment Tribunals. Are you a Solicitor? I was suggesting an alternative avenue to an Employment Tribunal to prevent paying excessive Court Costs for processing the claim. http:/...
Jump to postSome of the employee protections, particularly in respect of unfair dismissal have been quietly but effectively gutted in the last couple of years. The way this was achieved was by raising the filing fee for bringing a claim for unfair dismissal to 1200 pounds (heck bringing a claim of unpaid wages...
Jump to postWhat I would like to know is... what is a real GROSS pay amount for one of these staff? I've seen "take home" pay described as around £1000 (why did you accept a job in London even 6 years ago for that rate?). I would like to see this gross figure with all payments included for an average...

As some may know, the next G20 Summit is being held in Hamburg in the first week of July. Can any local photographers give any advice on the arrangements, e.g. will photographers be welcome within reason or is the whole airport going to be cordoned off? Also, any ideas on the likely departure runway?
Jump to postWeather related. ATC probably brought them in from the south as thunder storm/large downpour hit central London just after 2pm. I wouldn't get to worked up about it.

They had their IT cost savings, wonder how much this weekend has cost BA, in both money and pax goodwill - how many of them will book with BA again? I will confess as dedicated fan of BA, I going to start using other airlines. I don't like the general attitude and culture towards passengers, e.g. c...
Jump to post"Apparently the data server got struck by lightning". Like they really keep their servers in the open air! Lightning hits cause power surges that can disable equipment attached to power lines of any type. Did you have anything else to contribute to this thread or are nonsensical posts you...
Jump to postSome parts of the Press are reporting a power outage hit the BA servers. It will be interesting to read the detail (if it is made public), in due course.
Jump to postAnd by the way 'redress' is not always the best conclusion especially if your 7 night holiday is shortened by two nights. But what other option is there? If my holiday had been spoilt by this delay, I would expect BA to compensate me for my loss and refund me the full cost. If a strongly worded let...
Jump to postI actually find your comments pathetic. Of course, it is distressing for those caught up in the delay but I am sure those affected can ask for redress, etc. However, I'm not one for speculating what has gone wrong, e.g. phantom lightning strikes on servers. Anyway, look on the brightside, at least ...

I can't see the issue. Aircraft goes into the hangar; the engineers do an engine drop and replace engine with the possible issues. The aircraft is returned to service after a satisfactory engine run and sign off. In the interim, the engine with possible issues is inspected and the if there is cause ...

Third party work is probably screwed down in terms of final costs, hence cost effective. No employees with pension payments accruing.
The Mardi Gras scheme went south was an idiom.
Winterlight - please explain the significance. Also a Mardi Gras livery for LHR-New Orleans went south as well, no pun intended.

Jump to postPhotographers may receive fees for one off publications, syndicated publications or commercial work, e.g. Annual Reports. However, can you make a living out of it? I would say not as the demand just isn't there. I know I someone will disagree but in the main, it is a hobby the vast majority.

To be fair, the Skipper probably didn't know what was going on and was probably exercising a degree of self-restraint to prevent the situation escalating further.
You won't get a refund for an equipment switch. The majority of airline tickets sold in England & Wales have (legal) conditions of travel which you agreed to when you purchased your ticket. I presume Norwegian have included in their conditions of sale something along the lines of 'they are oblig...
