So, it is. Growing up, we were always reminded of this day, but I guess, as time goes on, certain important events begins to lose their place in the list of important things.
I guess it helps, that now, the belligerents of that particular event are string economic partners and allies.
How much force did those hf antennas have to deal with during flight? I am designing an HF antenna right now (it's an upgraded design based upon G2MQ design of the 1950s) and the droop caused by the structure mass and the wire mass and boom mass for a electrically short Multiband antenna is scary w...Jump to post

Does the this attrition lining extending past the fan, also have the same acoustic dampening properties as the inlet liner forward of the teal liner?
I was really surprised that posters were suggesting that the teal liner was an attrition/abradable lining. As you point out, the teal material extends many inches ahead of the fan. So it's not that, folks! Yes, it is. I suspect the reason the liner extends forward of the fan is based on the structu...Jump to post
I kinda like the idea of a head of state…a ceremonial leader who, while not ‘of the People’ nor representing the will of the People, represents the People.
The head of government does the dirty work, the head of state sits above it all and does the hand-waving.
Last time I did keto. I have used it and I am on it again. I tried Keto once with tremendous results…. But alas, I love food so much it’s hard to stick with it. The problem with these types of diets is that they’re not sustainable. You maintain them. So, you’re weight does the yo-yo. The bottom lin...Jump to post
Same here. Credit cards can either be a very good financial tool or a very bad financial disaster for people. I can’t remember the last time I paid interest (carried a balance) on credit card. I’m short, yes the operations software is updated.
On older systems, it requires a shop visit. Newer units can be updated/upgraded via data loader/PMAT/laptop/PCMCIA/whatever.
Some computers, such as the FMC or the EGPWS have their databases routinely updated.

It’s how airlines deemed the MD-11 to be unsafe (or less safe, for you fans of semantics, but the effect is the same) in the first place all those years ago. You’re not using the pneumatics for T/Rs very often, so not an issue. Pneumatics on the 727 IIRC and on the Challenger/CRJ Yup, the B727. Isn't this also a bit of a chicken and egg problem? There is typically no hydraulic pressure before the first engine has started. So you can't run the actuators on hydraulics during engine start because hydraulic pressure is provided by the running engines. The fuel pumps, however, will be running....Jump to post

If the aircraft have systems that differ greatly…or sometimes not too greatly…from the ‘base’ fleet, then a differences course is put together. I can't imagine that de-ice trucks would be brought along.
I suspect that the trucks to be used are inspected, filled and then quarantined, under guard, until use. The crews are probably screened and cleared by the SS. And, the entire de-ice operation overseen by the appropriate crew chief.

That would be great. Would save a lot of downline delays and interruptions. We didn't have such restrictions. Not because of maintenance, #2 always got the same love as the others. ...Jump to post
