TXL probably won't be missed. I'll never forget flying into there on a UA 757 from EWR. That was quite a long flight on a narrowbody plane to begin with, though we were lucky enough to be on the plane for an extra hour or two at EWR after our "on time departure" thanks to EWR's summer tra...Jump to post

is Korean doing LAX-SFO-ICN these days using a 748?
look at https://www.flightradar24.com/KAL214/2459b555, it travelled from LAX to SFO
yes, I have seen them doing SFO-NRT.
and yes I have seen NW DC10 at BOM also.
Anybody knows why?
Mine was ATL-RDU (obviously DL MD88), in April 2019.
Second last row, between the engines. had abut 100DB on my sound app on phone.
If you are not compelled to take private transport or taxi.
Take the TXL bus. It starts right outside the terminal and takes you to your hotel or connects you to all BVG / DB transport network.
My Experience is similar. We were on AF for NUE-CDG-and further. Here is some bit interesting experience. 1] NUE - CDG was a morning 6.30 or so flight I checked previous night about status, and also the joon aircraft had arrived in nuremberg. So we get up early and reach airport around 5.15AM. I che...Jump to post
Why is this regarded as a new developemnt? In my experience railway and airline companies used to wait for connecting passengers ever since. If their ongoing schedules had not been threatend by a domino effect, of course. In the case of United I rember a Heathrow procedure: we passengers from a ver...Jump to post
I agree, keeping 90 minutes for connection is what we do for our trips. I have had few bad experiences on UA for connections, and agents have closed the gate doors in front of us for our next flight. And in all those cases my designed connection time was 2 hours and arriving flight delay messed up t...Jump to post
To my knowledge.
ATA did not sell seats on hawaii routes to end users.
Adding so many asia routes to SJC is not happening anytime soon (SIN and TPE seems too much to imagine)
SJC really has small facilities for CBP etc.
Most likely looks SJC-ICN. and SJC-CDG. (I guess SJC-CDG existed previously on AA 777)
Not heavy, But I was once stranded in SJC to fly to DEN on UA.
And UA announced that since incoming flight is going to be too late, they are running a repositioning flight from SFO to SJC.
It did show up and turned out to be old initial UA 727 lot. What a pleasure.
This was in late 90s.
FL420 is service ceiling for 752.
I have been on one SFO-ORD few years ago at FL410 also.
Korean has about 29 or so of A332 and A333 of various ages from 3 to about 22 years.
Do we know if they replacing older A33x with new A33x or with something else (and when)
TP SFO-LIS is announced now starting June2019. UA has announced number of destinations in starting in 2019 from SFO. SJC keeps lagging somehow. (Mostly because of limited connection options ?) After Reno and American taking away their focus, I think SJC should work more closely with SW/AS for domest...Jump to post
In US, major airlines, used to announce connecting flight information, during approach into their hub. Don't they do it any more? When did they stop the practice? I know in the world of internet, somethings are available at your fingertip. But not all passengers can do it in flight, and getting an i...Jump to post
Oman Air (WY) are code share with number of airlines. (In fact earlier this year Air France booked me on WY when AF flight was cancelled.) So for US flights, code share with some alliance that has one of DL/UA/AA makes sense. Also their long range equipments are A330 and B789. My guess will be direc...Jump to post
Good to see B6 building up at SJC, OAK and SFO.Jump to post
And where will they fly them to?Jump to post
I think CA closing PVG is seasonal is it not? Will they return in summer 2019 with PVG ? Secondly :I think AA used to run SJC-NRT on DC-10. Are they going to be back and why now ? Same with AA 777 on SJC-CDG (Gone for long time now.) But BA (LHR) and LH(FRA) are good additions. I would expect AC(YYZ...Jump to post
SJC gets a LH(CL) 343 5 days in a week.
It will be refreshing to see a A350 or a 777 in that place.
Currently no 777 or 350 service out of SJC.
Another observation at SJC is, its international arrival is pretty small area.
Just be there when LH (343), HU(788) and ANA (788) all show up within half hour of each other.
But I think my opinion is they can attract some more international traffic, like OAK has done. (Air France, JAL, AA to NRT, KE)
KE had 2-5-2 also on their 777s.
They used it on SFO-ICN, definitely in late 2001 / early 2002.
I remember getting (to sleep) on full 5 seats for myself on one such flight.
I was the only assigned seat on those 5, they told me that at checkin, and nobody showed later also.
or even BOM-SJC
