I have no memories of the actual carrier, but shortly after merging with Continental Airlines on October 31, 1982, Texas International DC-9s began showing up on Continental's Peoria-Omaha-Denver route. They quickly gained "Continental" titles though. Saw them at Peoria once or twice before...

This is good for PIT. Personally I see BNA as the next station. NK could do BNA to DFW, DTW, IAH, LAX, and FLL easily. There have been RUMORS of other cities being added as well following PIT. All I can say. :) Hope DAY is one... It is a shame WN is leaving DAY, which is a relatively giant airfield...

Last spring, PIA (Peoria, IL) opened an international terminal adjacent the still new (2011) main terminal. Gates are presently used for domestic flights.
