For those who want to read a bit more about what will become of it: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/04/business/the-largest-start-up-ecosystem-of-the-new-berlin.html While I do understand the annoyances with TXL, I for one will miss it. In fact I was planning to do a trip in early Oct. for a last hu...
Jump to postSo I guess it's time for airlines to top up all those idle A380s & 747s and get paid for it! Why not the old mothballed A340-500s too? Now they can forget their government bailout money and collect fat checks from the oil companies instead.
(if only it were that simple)
Just noticed at 5:00 PM PST that the plane is still parked out at the remote stand.
Jump to postInteresting, you can dump fuel on the A340, why wait to burn it off? Possibly jettisoned fuel causing greater environmental impact at sea level vs. exhaust in the air? It would be interesting to know the difference. It would also be interesting to know how much of that fuel makes it all the way to ...
Jump to postI seem to recall British Airways had the issue with their A320s and people living under the Heathrow flight path complained about the "Whistle" and they had to have a modification to stop it. When the BA ones fly over my home they do seem quieter that other A320s from non UK airlines. Tha...

Looks like the last day of the A346 at SFO is Oct 26 after which they'll be sending the A380 from both FRA and MUC. Two LH A380s per day at SFO! They won't send two A380. FRA - SFO will be A346. I stand corrected. Looks like there is only one day with double A380s. Seems surprising that the larger ...

Jump to postThe irritating thing about economy on a BA A380 is that the armrests don't raise all the way, which makes it hard to lie across empty seats (of which there were plenty on my last two SFO-LHR / LHR-SFO runs). You have to carefully wedge yourself underneath them just so. Why?!?!
Jump to postI am referring to official company ads, they fly to "cities", not airports. LCC style Oakland is a "city." But your technically correct. In the past, they used to call out Oakland/San Francisco. They currently use Oakland-San Francisco. Although subsiding Oakland into SF annoys ...

Jump to postThe idea is fine, but off the mark. All they need is to increase the font size on the name to span below the windows like the old livery, and to change the color on the tail to green & yellow for Brasil. If they were to paint the engines a contrasting color, that would be nice too.
