Re: HA Starts HNL-BOS Today. Longest Scheduled Domestic Flight in US HIstory

Out of curiousity, is this the longest nonstop domestic flight in the world? Maybe France to some of its territories? The longest is Paris-Reunion, 5,809 Miles, 9,349km (statute miles- the OP lists statute miles as well) https://travelupdate.boardingarea.com/longest-domestic-air-routes/ For the rec...

Sounds like Basic Economy and they had to do it. Particularly in California they can’t allow the legacies to have a lower price point than they do. You say they had to do it, but WN does pretty well sans Basic Economy. What’s so different about WN that they can get away without while all the other ...

Re: Why does Norwegian fly to SWF?

Actually I'm a bit surprised Norwegian uses LAX for Los Angeles instead of Ontario. It would easily work for them, given that there is a Metrolink line near the airport. A bus hauling passengers between Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga or Upland is easy to arrange and then passengers can take the Metro...

Re: Doug Parker: "Our crowded planes are much more comfortable."

I'm not going to claim that AA is comfortable, but I'm slightly irked by the article. It doesn't even attempt to explain the logic or "math" that Doug Parker is using here. I'll attempt to: Let's say that the new seats are 3" thinner than the old (that seems to be the standard number ...

Re: Frontier Announces Lafayette, LA (LFT) to DEN & MCO

Other posters have touched upon this already, but it's not that surprising of an add to me. Most LCH area travelers use IAH/HOU and this could pull from that. LFT tends to go to either Houston or MSY if not using the local airport, but the BTR area heavily favors MSY (MSY is actually not much longe...

Frontier announced this morning it’ll be commencing twice weekly service between LFT and MCO & DEN. LFT-MCO will probably do well. I think LFT-DEN will be near-empty, though. There's about 20 PDEW demand, but I suspect a lot of that is business traffic and twice-weekly doesn't really work in th...

What part of “regulatory issues” do people not understand? It’s not weather. They don’t cancel flights days out due to the current winds being strong. I’m sure the airline would love to blame it on weather, as this is a lot more embarrassing. There’s something else going on here. The regulatory iss...

I flew an AA B789 LAX-DFW in August in their Premium Economy. Quite comfortable. It was sold domestically as Main Cabin Extra, but slightly more expensive than normal MCE seats to upgrade (I think $60 vs $30).

Quite the impressive and comfortable product.

I'm about 95% certain that any airline based in Puerto Rico would have to comply with US Airline ownership rules, which require at least 75% US ownership. This would put a damper on Avianca, LAN, or COPA owning/operating a Puerto Rico-based airline.
