From my standpoint, flying in a new plane, i.e. 777 as opposed to a DC10 isn't the same. It's strange...the older planes have this smell and feel to them. I'm bring this up because I flew in a 777 for the first time a couple weeks ago, by way of CO</acrony...Jump to post
I just had to share this with you guys. Boy, have times changed. This table is dated September 9, 1982, I picked it up at the LAX show the other day: "On United, you can fly First Class, Coach, or-on certain routes...Jump to post
I'm sorry you had those memories to take with you. It saddens me to hear fellow airline employee's disheartment towards the personell at their airline. Everytime I hear a plane has crashed, I get chills. I guess I just can't imagine being in one. Watching the second aircraft hit the Trade Center on 9'11 on live tv, I guess, was the straw that broke the camel's back. I haven't seen that footage since the week it happened, it makes me sick. I have so...Jump to post

I guess it just baffles me how some airlines have such a variant of fleet types. Why not cut the A300 and use the 763 or 777? The 300 has to be an expensive guy to maintain and whatnot. What is so special about the A300 that they use it solely on those Carribbean and Miami flights? I'm not being sar...Jump to post
How much longer does AA plan on keeping the A300 fleet around. It just seems overdue for retirement, only because DL and CO got rid of theirs long...Jump to post
I'd say we are use to any type of pun people have to offer us, especially on this forum. Southwest is the butt of a lot of airline jokes, always have been. But it's just like the little girl who bullyrags the little boy, it's not because she really doesn't like him, it's because she secretly really ...Jump to post

I personally think it's because their customer complaints have gone up. Pax see the decals, raise their expectations of the flight, are completely let down, and complain as to why? Nobody flies "luxury jets", especially nowadays. 737doctor- Thanks for sharing those stories. I believe that most of us at SW, including myself, are hopeful for all the majors that have been suffering. I don't have hard feelings towards them, I have no reason to, but I feel like there are hard feelings toward...Jump to post
I will admit we do things fast. I'll also admit that other airlines do things slow. Just today, 2 of our planes were cleared to back taxi past an American MD80 who was taxiing at walking speed. Both of our jets had back-taxiied, flipped a 360 at the end of the runway and were both airborne beginning...Jump to post
Funny this is brought up. I'm usually up in the jetway after loading the planes, greeting passengers as they board. We had a flight attendant from another major carrier making her way down the jetway, and myself and the Captain greeted her. She didn't say a word and proceeded onto the plane with a s...Jump to post

I don't think you have been paying close attention to Southwest's "growth" these past couple years. We haven't been opening up stations. Yeah, there's only 1 of our 200's in the new paint, and it wasn't a mistake like everybody was saying. It was done because it needed it terribly. No other reason.
