Guys, I am a bit confused. Should'nt there be an Objective reason as to why these work etc or the crops we have seen on the database. I have always liked and cropped photograph like these in my work: <a href="http://www.airliners.net/photo/Icelandair/Boeing-757-208/2570831/L/" target="_blank">http:/...
Jump to postWonder if any one has and any experiences shooting from the Pool deck of the Grand Hyatt. I believe I heard; it works only during the morning. What focal lens do you need, and when is the best time to go.. Thanks, here is one photo I found from there: <a href="http://planeimages.net/i/UwKsHVZQ6ipQ" ...
Jump to postThanks for all the comments. Kevin, do the extended flight control in my three images look normal? Would you say the aircraft looks clean? I am realizing that aircraft in flight will not show abrupt changes in the flight controls. A couple of closing questions: Lets say you had the same aircraft in ...
Jump to postGreat reply. Well I dont see much, but based when I do, the images have control surface's active...so. I just do not hope that the reason most great aviation images are taken in the air was to avoid active control surfaces, which I certainly hope not. That being said, In your preference, vik, do you...
Jump to postThanks guy's for replying. In terms of what A.net requires. It would be accepted. I wanted to know from a photographer who shoots for major magazines and makes "a living" shooting planes for clients, and wonder if a image with control surfaces extended would still be valid... even thought your state...
Jump to postHi guys, Lately I have been thinking about this, But is there anything "out of place, Wrong or distracting about taking pictures of planes with flaps down, movement in the leading edges, Horizontal tail movement, etc I attached the examples here.I know they are in landing or takeoff mode, but would y...
Jump to postHey Guys, thanks for the help in the past on all my questions. Just a quick one, I believed I asked this one before, but are you fine with the crop of the wing here. The Consequences from people I asked is Yes, Just want to me sure its also okay by you guys.... Thanks. Link: <a href="http://www.airt...
Jump to postHey guys, just a quick one here. I already circled the parts that I am asking about, 1. Is the outer engine placement fine and not in an awkward position. 2. Are you fine with the wheel placement and the fact that they are bunched up. Basically anything visually wrong with either of the both questio...
Jump to postThanks guys, Appreciate the replies. Vic, one quick question. Care to elaborate? &n...
Jump to postThanks very much. Great explanation. I See where the Catalog idea is coming from and its fine by me. I know this shot will never go beyond that, and my intentions where just to get how it was. That being said, With regards to the way the props look on my Cubana shot, visually does it look wield,wron...
Jump to postHey guys, this question is for both flying and Static; but mostly for Static Prop planes. I know the desire is to try to photograph Prop planes on a 3/4 angle. I have some that were photographed between 3/4 and side-in the middle of these two angles. I was wondering if this is still okay and I am no...
Jump to postThis Years Convention was one of the best. We had many attendees from around the world, which added to the overall atmosphere. Jump to postWell I know that the engine overlap will not give a rejection reason, but was wondering if it was a problem. Also just asking about the crop, which I think based on the comments is not
Jump to postAny one find anything wrong with the engine overlap on the right side?
Thanks
Thanks Mark. When you say the crop is "Okay" what needs to be done for its good?
Steven
Hello all. Just wondering if this crop works. I cut out the left wing but kept the right visible. I asked several people and said it is working. Thanks for the time and responses Link to image. : <a href="http://s27.postimg.org/qeudwoo43/7072.jpg" target="_blank">http://s27.postimg.org/qeudwoo43/707...
Jump to postThanks Mick for the response. Lastly your intention to get higher, with your shots and/or air-to-air photos was for the points that you mentioned. Not because you where avoiding the wing blocking the fuselage.
Jump to postThanks again for the comments. Mick, why do low wing aircraft look better when taken from above?
Jump to postThanks for the informative responses guys.
So its safe to assume, that avoiding wings over fuselage is not one of the reasons why air to air photos are taken at a higher angle....
Just wondering why Air to air aviation Photos are taken from higher angles. Is it to avoid the wing from covering the fuselage or to see the landscape below?
Thanks
The photos, I used are not terriable examples and not poor, I even shot those kinds myshelf. Furthermore I brought up this thread just to get some Assurance that I have nothing to worry about. The fact is that I am looking at the wings as a foreign object, not belonging there, instead of seeing them...
Jump to postWell wrong part is me being to critical,, But in your regards, Vik of course I cant no do anything about the wing blocking from this angle but do YOU think they look bad, or there is something missing.

Hello all.
Excuse if this has been asked.
Is December a good time to head to St.Mart
If so how is the weather, sun etc. Best days to go.
Any wide angles recommended for Nikon?
Thanks

Hey Tis,
Unfortunately I am in class that day. Your best bet is to get a hotel near the south side of the airport and spend the remaining time at RWY 9 by the furniture.

Looks good, This might be my next camera, although I am skeptical about its noise performance with its high <acronym title="Martinair (Netherlands)">MP</acronym> count. Jump to postThanks, when is the best time to avoid thermals- I looked through other shots, taken from this location, and they do not have heat haze, so obviously it is something on that day, that caused it-- any clues?
Jump to postHello again. I was wondering if this is heat haze above the fuselage, The image was taken with a 50-500 so I know the qaulity wont be as good, but the overall image is good. Is that heat haze above the fuselage... The image was taken when the aircraft, was way up in the air. The bottom should have i...
Jump to postHello all, I have a question regarding a shot and would like to have feed back: here is the link.. Regarding that shadow that I circled- aesthetically- does it look bad or distracting in any way- or is it not a problem Thanks for the replies I would like to know, I am losing sleep on this.. Steven- ...
Jump to postThe first one I would say it is backlit. Not serverly, but still noticeable. Quality also seems to be an issue.
Well, noisy and soft are a problem.
Steven.
Hey ron, I am in agreement with Vik as well, It seems a bit low- not much. Very nice shoot regardless.
Steven
Here is the correct link https://www.airliners.net/addphotos/b...g/ready/u1317660793.9575exfora.jpg
For those who have not seen...
Glad that you were able to go out. The first one is backlit and mostly likely would suffer a rejection for that. There is also a lot of empty space on the left. The rest of course are backlit. It is pretty hard to successfully shoot with backlit conditions. Maybe if you had a interesting motive it m...
Jump to postMuch better on both areas, the softness and the Centering
Steven.
Hey Many. For the Centering.... just a bit lower on the frame, to kind of center the image. You dont need a lot of it. From what I can see on the softnees, if you look at the left engine, in comparison with the right one; the left is more sharp then the right. I good indication is by also looking at...
Jump to postHello, I "Feel" the image is leaning to left--Just a bit. So it can benefit from <acronym title="Air Marshall Islands">CW</acronym> rotation. Jump to postThanks guys-- slowly its starting to wore off on me
I would love to send it in, but I already have one from the front..... and would fall under double, unfournatley.
Hi cruce, The Ameriflight seems good to go. It does not seem to dark.... You can see detail in the fuselage, which is great. Crop seems to be good on the United. The 767 underneath seems to have a bit of quality issues going for you. You have much more interesting photos here. I would not send this ...
Jump to postUnfortunately, the shot is more about the ship and the landscape then the aircraft. Dont get discouraged..... In my eyes this is a good shot, and should not be set aside, just does not meet the A.net category/ motive rules. When I look at the photo, I am interested in the buildings, more then the pl...
Jump to postHello, The crop on the Delta seems okay, Contrast is rather flat and the nose is a bit soft. The klm suffers from grain, and I dont think the crop looks good,, it is heavy on the right side due to the crop. This one is pretty interesting. I guess it would be up to the screener to decide if Motive/Su...
Jump to postWell, I guess since it is sticking out of the fuselage like that......
Jump to postThanks guys, so given the fact mentioned by stealthz, there is nothing wrong with the shot right?
Jump to postHello guys, not posted in a while. I would like your opinions, on the engine that I circled- Does it look wield sticking out like that/distracting, or not a problem at all, is good? Thanks, Not asking to show this plane off to the world but this issue has been bothering me for the last couple of day...
Jump to postHi Gary,
Yeah this one is better, the other one was to warm.
The blues really pop out in this one!
Steven.
Well that one is bit better in sharpness. Exposure and contrast seem to be rather a bit harsh.
Steven.
