Another issue with San Jose is that the blew a bunch of money on that new terminal so costs have risen. That always pushes airlines away, but especially so on short haul flying.

I flew several flights on Varig when I was in Brazil at the end of 1998/beginning of 1999. On most of the flights, the seatbelt sign went off as soon as the aircraft was in the air. Shocking to me.

They are a consolidator so they will have access to lower fares at certain times. When we had our travel metasearch site here at PriceGrabber, Airfare.com was one of our merchants.
