On their current route network, a dedicated crew rest area wasn't really a necessity, the premium seats would suffice. With the new routes however, it's a different story, hence the addition of the rest area.

It's not a 'crew' toilet. I think they try to have people use the toilets at the rear of the a/c as to avoid congestion around the fwd galley/cockpit door area.

I've seen it done and do question it. Especially on passenger aircraft. If the aircraft rolls forward for any reason, the door could be damaged when connected to an airbridge...

24.5 years old according to airfleets.net. I've worked with Aurela and never really had any issues. Think this is one of those incidents where it could've happened to any airline. Wonder how Monarch will handle it with it being a chartered flight.
