You've just given the majors an excuse to raise baggage fees and maybe even change fees. I'll stick to flying Southwest. No change fee and no bag fees. Sure there's tradeoffs but atleast I won't pay more than half of my fare if I need to make changes.

I was searching for flights from EWR to AUS and I noticed that United matched Southwests fare (which is surprisingly cheap why I dont know) with a Basic Economy fare.
