On the bright side, the Brexit Party Ltd. chairman appears to have split the Leave vote in Hartlepool, allowing the Labour candidate to retain his seat. The Labour candidate got somewhere around 15k votes, with both the Tory and Brexit Party Ltd. candidates receiving around 10k each.

Could be a rehearsal for the flypast down the Hudson River on Thursday? I understand it's a fair number of demo teams (Red Arrows, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, USAF F-35 Demo Team, etc.) are involved, so it'd be quite a spectacle to watch and listen to.

The scaffolding makes me suspect a repeat of what happened to Roskilde Cathedral in 1968, where casual use of open flame (a blowtorch iirc) in an area that was filled with bone-dry wooden structure set part of the cathedral on fire.
