Re: Rugby World Cup 2019 Discussion Thread

Fairly entertaining start to proceedings, for someone as me who doesn't normally watch rugby. Wasn't too sure what to make of Russia as the opponent in the opening game, as I'm only really familiar with the major teams, and even though they did look like they lost a bit of steam as the game wore on,...

In the summer of 1992, at the height of grunge, I had the pleasure of seeing Pearl Jam open for Nirvana. And inbetween the two shows, Denmark won the European football (soccer) championships. To say people were in a good mood would be quite the understatement.

Unfortunately, if they get anywhere near the number of people they claim to be involved, it's going to be a nightmare to police. Nothing stopping them from sending one up for 10 minutes and then darting off, while another somewhere else sends theirs up.

Could be a rehearsal for the flypast down the Hudson River on Thursday? I understand it's a fair number of demo teams (Red Arrows, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, USAF F-35 Demo Team, etc.) are involved, so it'd be quite a spectacle to watch and listen to.

For what it's worth, if it's anything like driving an articulated bus, it's a piece of cake.
