My apologies. The news article linked in the first post stated that no injuries were reported.

Re: Maintenance Truck Wedged Under A320 at PHL.

The only way I see how the driver reversed into that position was if 1. Their foot slipped/missed the brake pedal and hit the gas or 2. They were preparing to pull away and accidentally had the vehicle in reverse. Either way, yikes. Glad that no one was injured though.

I've heard (unsure on the truth so take it how you want) that a single fan blade on a 737 MAX is approximately $30k.

Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Aviation Thread (DFW/DAL) - 2019

Thank you for that. Any reason why WN doesn't try to 'balance out' the gate usage a little more? Just curious why they may run 11 - 14 departures for one gate, while only 8 - 9 flights from other gates. Sincerely, My guess is that gates with the higher number of departures use a combination of pred...

Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Aviation Thread (DFW/DAL) - 2019

WN schedule increase from DAL begins today adding 15 more scheduled flights for a total of 195 daily departures. Hopefully things don't get too rough as they still only have 17.5 gates and instances of flights holding out for gates wasn't exactly rare before the schedule increase.

WN had around 50 canceled flights at DAL last night with 20+ diversions. Things were basically at a standstill with only a couple of flights departing and no arrivals between 5pm and 11:30pm.

If not an 800/MAX8 then it will be a MAX7 if they have any by 2021. I highly doubt they would repaint a (by that point relatively old) -700 for their 50th anniversary.

Someone painted a repaint for a 737 model on Flight Simulator X entitled "Tribute One", with the Desert Gold livery on the front third of the aircraft, Canyon Blue on the middle third, and Heart livery on the rear third. I can't find a picture of it online, but it looked nice IMO I'd rath...

Re: SWA 50th Anniversary jet?

As much as I would love both of those to happen I have my doubts on anything that extreme being a permanent addition to the fleet. 1. They got rid of "Silver One" due to the high upkeep requirements and now only have a nose decal on the plane (was a -300, now a -700). 2. If they do anythin...

Re: Southwest Schedule Extension 6/28

I don't understand how WN will manage 195 flights a day at DAL with only 18 gates. Since they operate 10 out of gate 15, that means 17 gates must handle 185 gates or 10.88 flights per day. Any kind of problem will lead to rolling delays, and especially with the larger birds turn times take longer o...

As far as I understand it, they are just "preparing" for the eventual site of terminal F. I don't believe any public plans have been unveiled as of yet. I would expect an announcement sooner rather than later though.

Re: Southwest may take 500 MAX 7

There is no reason to believe Southwest is going smaller. They won't go smaller than the 737-7. Smaller doesn't fit their model. All I'm saying is that the E2 is a relatively poor-selling similar-size aircraft to their old 737-300s that Boeing is inheriting and might be inclined to make WN a great ...

Re: Southwest may take 500 MAX 7

Forgive my ignorance of Southwest, could they look at the MAX 8 200? I highly doubt that they will take the MAX8 200 because its the same size as the MAX8, but certified for 200 passengers. The WN business model isn't the Ryanair or Spirit business model. They fit 175 seats in their 800s/MAX8s so t...

I’m quite curious how they got it into the airport in the first place. It’s not exactly the first time something like this has happened, and the TSA/DHS/FBI should’ve done something about it by now. I'm not sure how it is at DFW or other airports but at my airport airside employees go through basic...

Re: Dallas says it has a plan to resolve Southwest-Delta fight for Love Field gates

I would think the constitutionality of a federal law to arbitrarily constrain is questionable Can't DL just file a lawsuit, have the DAL situation examined, and then get the law "re-repealed"? I'd imagine that this is what WN is hoping will happen since (I think) none of the original part...

Re: When will WN begin to retire the 73G?

On the topic of interior refresh, is there any reason why WN isn't retrofitting their later build -700s (less than 12 years old let's say) with some form of the sky interior to more closely match the 800s and MAX8s? I believe I saw a while back that there was a third party company offering a product...

Re: Dallas says it has a plan to resolve Southwest-Delta fight for Love Field gates

WN should just buy DAL under the condition they get to expand it to 32 gates. Then they lease out a few of those gates, leaving themselves with 28 or so... 1. There's a better chance of DFW shutting down tomorrow. 2. Even if they did, DAL would still be subject to the same restrictions placed on it...

While exploring around KDAL on Google Earth I found something rather interesting. There doesn't appear to be any other gates set up for dual boarding at that time. The dual je...
