EWR-ATL: a route WN should have added but now will be covered by NK. Interesting that last winter season, NK ramped up EWR-FLL to 4x daily but this season, NK appears to be keeping it at 3x daily, while covering ATL at 1x daily through the winter.

So AA adds GSO and TYS from MIA, yet STILL refuses to add MKE. MKE is by far the largest hole from MIA on AA. Why do they not fly this route? Couple of points: -GSP and TYS are a lot closer to MIA than MKE, and not heavy LCC stations like WN at MKE. -The whole MKE being too close to the ORD hub iss...

I have no idea how JFK slots work if they can be traded , but I doubt AA would do a trade unless it was for IAD only or ORD. AA is extremely profitable on JFK-LAX and SFO don't see them encouraging competition. UA can start IAD probably without a big deal as JFK is not slot controlled all day. IAD ...

The quick solution here is a deal with AA I could see UA giving up some DCA slots (e.g. those used for DCA-CLE, and DCA-EWR) to AA, where AA can increase its position there, but I'm not sure AA would want to give up any JFK slots in return.
