Please tell me they're buying the ex-NW DC-9's for their fleet, those things had decades of life left in them!Jump to post
Good riddance, it's turned airports and planes into a zoo the past few years. Last time I was at DEN someone's poodle was just went to the bathroom all over the carpet and they owner kept going, I felt bad for the cleaning staff.Jump to post
DL to begin service to IND starting in October:

Heard rumblings the MSP flight is being cancelled (at least temporarily) after Labor Day. Not surprising considering the current travel conditions but would be a shame. Trying to book through Delta after 9/6 routes you through ATL, DTW or SLC. On a related note, I'm wondering just how bad this will ...Jump to post
Excited to see what the future holds for AA at SEA. I wonder how the flight to Bangalore will do.Jump to post
Why is it that this thread barely gets any action while the Nashville thread is almost always trending? I don't get it. We need to step it up guys. BNA fanboys mostly. And as much as a certain frequent "contributor" to Memphis threads who loves to diss the city and its prospects would dis...Jump to post
For anyone who lives close enough to the airport to look, there's a Volga-Dnepr Il-76 on its way from Shanghai by way of Anchorage, no doubt transporting important medical supplies. Would this be the first visit of the 76 to MEM? Somehow I imagine one would have come through there at some point.Jump to post
Seems DL is trying to become the "legacy" airline of choice for the mid-south region. Sort of like how DL operates in the upper midwest. Considering the gains AA had made in MEM as it evolved in to an O&D airport, It is more like Delta decided to stop neglecting a once loyal station t...Jump to post

A few weekends ago I was out at the airport on kind of a hazy day and didn't get a lot of clear shots, but for whatever reason this one stood out. The light on the fuselage ended up being interesting so I thought it might be worth working with. This is what it looked like after I scaled it down to a...Jump to post

Hello all. I've been a regular A.net visiter since around 2000 but just recently tried my first photo upload. I have some experience with photography and photo editing but I know I've got a lot to learn to meet the high standards here. Anyway, my photo was rejected with a personal note to try upload...Jump to post
A Sunwing 737 heading to Calgary from Cancun made an emergency landing in Memphis last night. Sounds like the airport staff did a great job keeping the passengers comfortable while they waited for a replacement aircraft. https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/cancun-flight-bound-for-calgary-diverted-to-memphis-...Jump to post
The airport authority released the new strategic overview today. It's got some interesting information some of the anticipated future developments. Worth a read if you're interested: https://www.flymemphis.com/Areas/Admin/ ... 135233.pdfJump to post
Very, very interesting. Can't wait to see how this progresses.Jump to post

Over 5% increase in passengers in 2019, great news for Memphis.
You know, back in 2016 I thought this was all kind of a joke and that people on both sides would wake up and do the right thing to keep the government more or less on track. Not only has that not happened, but the zombified GOP is more gung-ho than ever to roll back progress and defend this moron wh...Jump to post
The 787's backlog is less than 200 frames now. Obviously Boeing has other concerns at the moment but even with the anticipated slowdown that's less than 2 years' worth of production. An announcement of incremental improvements could do a lot of good to increase potential interest. Re-engining would...Jump to post

Who operated A343 to SEA?

Allegiant seems to be testing out MEM as a destination city with a few routes not unlike they started out with at BNA. BNA turned out to be a huge success and thus we have seen routes and destinations grow out of there. Will be curious to see how MEM does. Agreed, here's hoping it does well. Come s...Jump to post

Also, it appears this Instagram page has a lot of BNA throwbacks. I scrolled through and found a lot of AA hub stuff. I'm really amazed at some of the fares from MEM, I priced out a Tue to Tue to Mia in June and 199 R/T popped up for Delta with quick connections at ATL and AA's nonstop was 309. That is basic but those still allow a carry on. DL has the a321 first out, last in, wonder if we may see that get a 757 o...Jump to post

They should have leveled the whole thing and start fresh.. I can definitely see the argument there. There's so much empty space in the current configuration, and I'm still not sure how I feel about just "mothballing" A and C once construction on B completes. B will be much improved, but l...Jump to post

The rout just continues. First the shutdown, followed immediately by a delay in the return to service of likely at least 5-6 more months. Yeesh... how much more can this program take?Jump to post
I work for an airline in BNA. Always curious what’s going on the other side of the state. I visited Memphis last summer for a trip to Graceland. I was pretty impressed with everything. I can tell MEM has a lot of potential. The new terminal renovations are much needed. They’ll definitely help attra...Jump to post
Allegiant adds new seasonal routes to/from CVG/PIT/PBI and the most odd ball thing I think I've ever seen, DSM. Considering that Allegaint started BOS this time around, DSM over BOS is wacky at best. OAK and it's once weekly did not come back. I still say MEM/TYS on Thur/Sun would be a slam dunk. Y...Jump to post
