Re: Emirates renegotiating 777X order

It was long assumed by most here that EK will never cancel 777Xs. Interesting turn of events... Emirates has a history of signing MoUs for aircraft and not firming them, as well as canceling firm orders, so I don't think any Emirates order, based on its history and going into its future, can be dee...

Re: FG: How are the all-new Airbus (A350) and Boeing (787) widebodies faring?

Very misleading graphs to support a particular view. The 787 built up a huge orderbook of 887 by 2011 before it entered service. Only one year, 2013, since then has Boeing sold more than it delivered. I find facts inform a discussion ! The 787 is a huge success on the basis of its delivery rate but ...

It is obvious to me that passengers that want to bring their baggage into the cabin should pay more. The industry has got itself into a crazy situation with their pricing model being wrong. Passenger behaviour will be driven by pricing.

I’ve not seen anything official from EY yet, until we do we can really just speculate over which orders they are keeping. Airbus wanted to get the bad news out alongside the EK and A380 news but even that was muddled. Plenty to run on this story yet.

I don't think so. There's little demand for VLAs anyway and the 777 can hardly be called that. Besides that, the A350 is more or less equally as big as the 777 so there's still competition on that size. Can’t the -9 be counted as a VLA?
