Re: UA Will Now Hold Flights for Connects

United told USA TODAY, if it will cause c... the plane to arrive at its destination late, the tool will not advise for the departing flight to hold."[/i] So if the 'hold' will cause a plane to arrive late, it will not hold the flight??????????? Seems like BS to me. or maybe marginally useless....

Re: Equine Flights

Wife almost had a horse shipped from spain to CA. $20k as I recall, was a special 'stall box'. Vet & groom on board, no 'bolt' gun, but could administer as much sedative as needed. or more. Horse was under $100k. I dont fly private. While there is a lot of fun in the 'money is no object' storyli...

Re: AAA taking planes out of service for bad stow bins

Sounds a lot worse than the bins just not closing. https://twitter.com/krisvancleave/status/1103753337630085121 Let me explain how this works, I don't have a horse in this race but have made a living taking planes to repair stations. Union airline takes aircraft to nonunion shop. Aircraft returns t...

Somewhat low on air?

Out of balance?

In need of re-seating?

Re: Cathay Pacific aircraft repainted with wrong titles

Either a publicity stunt or a fake photo (or both). I realize Cathay themselves have shared this photo, which makes it just seem more like one of those two things to me. Are there other photos from different angles, dates and airports showing this? 1000% agree Cathay trying for some free viral mark...

Re: Delta ejects passengers over airplane mode spat

Cellphones are not an issue for airplanes. I'll relay a short little story. I have a very good friend who flies for a regional United Express affiliate, and one day a few months ago, his phone butt dialed me. I heard some chatter and was able to hear some conversation pretty clearly that sounded li...

Re: Southwest ask mother to prove Bi-racial child is her own

All you really need to just stop. Airline agents are not responsible, empowered, or trained to prevent "kidnapping". Their responsibilty starts and stops with checking identification (due to governmental regulation on int'l) and verifying age (per under 2 company lap child policy). That's...

. With regards to vomiting, the usual advice I've heard given by Medlink has been if the passenger has vomited in the last 2-3 hours, they are not cleared to travel. Useful info... I recall a flight from HKG-SFO in the J class bathroom 50% of the time..... But I *did* manage not to throw up until w...

Re: UA's newest gaffe: flew dog to NRT instead of MCI

Poor Irgo. I wouldn't think that he's going to be thrilled with yet another 12+ hour ride in the baggage hold. Beats the overhead compartment, though. Reportedly, Irgo will be flying IN the first class cabin with a human chaperone: from CNN: She said Irgo is set to be flown from Naruto, Japan, to D...

Tragic. Tuns out it was the CEO of Compass group, his two adult sons (20s) and his fiance and her 11 yo daughter. Brutal. Combined with the Costa Rica crash, very sobering.... I'd considered a lunch at Cottage Point Inn last visit. $535 per person, a bit steep. Although I did spend some time in the ...

Re: NH175 LAX-NRT returning to LAX due to a passenger being onboard who shouldnt be onboard

5. Someone working for NH (or whomever does ground handling for NH at LAX) manually boarded the passenger. We don't know if the scanner picked up the problem or it was just ignored but certainly at some point, someone had to look at the boarding pass (probably has UA stock but with HN flight number...

Re: LAX remote west gates

They definitely have ramps that switch back inside to get from ground to jetway level. I am not sure if they have elevators for wjheelchairs. I've often thought that these gates would be ideal if a plane presented a biological risk or some kind of air or passenger borne contamination- pax could be f...
