Re: Airbus A350-900s to remain exclusively Trent-powered until at least 2030

Overall I think all of the big 3 are pretty happy to sit back and try to recoup their investment on their current set of products. RR and GE are struggling financially, and Pratt just did a big layoff. I also agree that Airbus is largely getting what they want from RR so it's not too likely they wo...

We have a major billion plus project going in this area at MAN. The owners have said it's worth pushing on as money has never been as cheap. Dropping projects simply down to the pandemic can be seen as short sighted. When construction resumes, borrowing and costs will be much higher. Yes, that's cl...

Re: Seattle Times' D Gates Looks at Boeing Strategy and Situation

The Boeing story in recent years can all be pinned down to the two events of the McDD merger and (even more importantly) the failure to promote Allan Mullaly into the top job. It's also arguable that there is a lack of strong leadership that's been there for a long time now. No Donald Douglas or Bil...

Those A380s were sold in the "Good Times" so making snarky comments about ice blocks is failing to blame the real reasons why the A380 didn't garner more success. It was just too damned big; expensive and too much of a strain on airline assets/cash. Buyers like the Eurolegacies and ME3 saw...

Sort of O/T but if EI do well enough to change a route to widebodies, BHX could be the perfect place to try out the A321LR.
What I'm hearing is the A330 will go West Coast and if they decide otherwise LAS is a possibility.
