The USA has only just reopened its doors to people from Europe. For 18 months, the UK-US market was either closed or heavily constrained. The UK will open a bit more in a week's time.

Perhaps wait maybe 3 months for demand to recover and then reassess

It seems long haul will take much longer to recover compared to short haul. If those slots at Gatwick are to be used profitably, it will be with A320s and B737s, not widebodies

It's possible that I'm seeing the results of a dodgy IT system... but Air Albania seem to have weekly flights from Kukes to Zurich on sale on Thursdays throughout October. Visit the airline's website for details...

If Kukes-Zurich and Kukes-Istanbul didn't work, where did the people from Kukes go to find better paid work ? Kukes isn't a wealthy area compared to the rest of Europe. Would routes from Kukes to Milan, Bologna and Rome have likely worked better ?

Last Sunday, 19-September, flights to/from Kukes were all diverted to/from Tirana instead with schedules changed significantly to avoid even attempting to go to Kukes. Aircraft flew DUS-AMS as KL1858 and then AMS-NCE as KL1261
FR24 shows between Budel and Amsterdam, the aircraft had speed of zero and altitude of zero - strongly suggesting dubious data

I agree with Patrick very much on this. You are definitely asking for trouble. Find a backup option to get from VIE to CPH and consider paying for that reserve ticket now if the price is low or, as Patrick suggests, buy tickets for an alternate route with a longer connection time

Even with a monopoly, there is a limit as to what many people will tolerate. A scheduled arrival at maybe 0300 will decrease demand - not everyone is a poor migrant worker who earns 4 euros per hour

Good luck finding a seat for LTN-TLV for £54 in normal times when passengers who are not citizens can enter a country freely and not have to quaratine. In 2019, those £54 fares were near impossible to find - they make for great bait-and-switch advertising to bring customers to your website
