Still looks a bit soft, especially the top part of the titles. Unfortunately there's not a lot one can do about soft images, other than resizing or using AI software like Topaz Sharpen AI (which is a hit or miss, and I'm not sure if a.net would even allow AI software to be used on photos). What cam...Jump to post

Hi all - I just uploaded this picture. I think the lighting is very strong, as well as the contrast, coloration, etc. Unfortunately, I fear it may be too blurry. To what extent can this be fixed with editing?

Normally when a major news site talks about the "future" of something aviation-related, they're about to present a 10-year-old idea that never gained traction because it's unrealistic (how often has a non-aviation friend sent you that circular runway article?). In this case, as LAX772LR sa...Jump to post
WILL AS ever add NS to SAN from DCA like they do from BWI? AS cut SAN-BWI pre-pandemic for what it's worth. But to your point, I think that would be a logical add as SAN-DCA is not currently served nonstop and it looks to be the biggest metro area not served outside of the 1,250mi radius. Unfortuna...Jump to post
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoSb6MvpYHU ET-ASL visited BWI today from DUB. Not sure exactly why, but it parked at the cargo apron. Winds were 30017G30 so it made for a fun landing. Interesting. I thought maybe a diversion from IAD, but they wouldn't park at the cargo apron. ET has freighters so...Jump to post

It's about that time of the year when (I hope) preliminary travel plans are coming together. As travel recovers and restrictions ease, where are you headed in 2022? I'll start us off. I have a week off work and some miles to spend, so I booked a trip around the country in January to check off a few ...Jump to post
I would certainly pay for lounge access in LAX, or snag a room for a few hours at one of the airport hotels (and set an alarm on your phone, the alarm clock in the room, and request a wakeup call from concierge if you're concerned about oversleeping). I wouldn't be nearly as concerned about the layo...Jump to post
The main advantage to redeyes, in my opinion, are that you can still have the whole day on the west coast to do whatever you want. I remember flying back LAX-BWI in 2017 on AS, we used the entire last day to tour Warner Brothers, see the BUR flight museum, and have a nice lunch. Didn't have to be at...Jump to post
Great write-up! I always thought it would be cool if LH used one of their A346s to do a modern-day version of either of the last two planes there. Although, I did a mock-up of a D-AIBA-type livery on the A346 and there are too many airlines to really make it work, so a logojet like G-MIDL may be mor...Jump to post
Under two hours from JFK arrival now. Looks like Speedbird took a more northerly track. Both are at FL380 over the Gulf of St. Lawrence. I wonder if they have two different cost indexes they're using and to what extent that might play a role in the timing of this. It would be cool if the "winne...Jump to post

No, UA never used a 777-300 from LAX to LHR. I'm pretty sure it was a 789 in the time leading up to covid. That LAX-LHR 789 seems like a downgrade (from a capacity standpoint) from pre-covid. Wasn't that previously a 77W? But love this all. Flights to London are gonna be cheeeeap next summer. Prior...Jump to post

I so wish we got the other tail design you could vote on. https://www.travelcodex.com/american-airlines-allow-employees-to-vote-new-livery-or-old/ Keeps the modern name/feel and includes that awesome A”A Tail. Yeah I could never get behind that one. It was a knee-jerk thing after initial negative r...Jump to post
The old AA cheatline was easy to translate to any shape, any surface. So it was very feasible to wrap it around the winglet. The current AA logo is not nearly as flexible. (That's why I had strong oppositions when people tried to put the new logo over the entire tailplane. It's a different shape and...Jump to post

My main issue is that the angle of the winglet and the angle of the logo are different. It won't look seamle...Jump to post
Oh baby. This on top of their big announcement last week. Could only expect AA and DL to respond accordingly. It seems like business travel was stressed in the message, so I wonder if it's related to more business-oriented routes. New connections to SIN, LHR, or FRA? I don’t remember DL or AA “resp...Jump to post

I very likely flew a US 762 from CLT-SJU in the early 2000s, but I can't verify the flight or type. So the shortest widebody route I can verify is the 3,539nm PHL-LHR route on BA's 747.
Longest narrowbody is I believe AGP-JFK on the DL 752.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe most airlines' SOP requires the aircraft to be in landing configuration at the outer marker of the ILS (4-7nm out). This will probably change at unique approaches such as Tegucigalpa or other RNAV approaches where there is no ILS marker. In...Jump to post
