Geez, can you go just one week without the DL /ATL hatefest? You do realize no one takes you seriously on this site don't you? No, I don't think he/she does. I ignore every post from klm617 because it's always negative. I don't know some of his post that don't relate to the waning presence of DL an...Jump to post
I haven't really followed WN's presence in CVG, but they would seem to be the most likely significant threat to the CVG focus city. If they can grow and attract significant numbers of DL's business flyers, I could see CVG losing it's focus city status at some point. I don't think WN is really affec...Jump to post
When is DL going to cut CVG down to hub flying/Paris and close the CVG focus city? Is it really that important strategically for DL to keep a big presence at CVG with DTW so close? I mean, no offense to Cincinnati, but it isn’t on the same level as Boston or Raleigh-Durham (Delta’s other two focus ...Jump to post
DL continues to cut the RJ routes from CVG, with CVG-MKE scheduled to end Nov 25. Pretty annoying they keep cutting these regional routes, but its no different than what they are doing in DTW. At least Ultimate seems to be committed to reopening some of these regional routes. Are we sure it's done,...Jump to post

How many of those people even have passports and the money to travel to Europe(nevermind a reason to go to Basel)? Huh? 8.7M people in the cities mentioned? At the right fare am sure there is enough people with money and passports to fill a few flights per week year round and still maintain the air...Jump to post
DL used to run CVG-ZRH to catch the business market on the route, but I highly doubt it would entail much demand for a LCC flight. The only thing I can think of is codesharing with F9 like Interjet is doing. Given that CVG is one of F9's largest bases, it could explain the choice, but that is the o...Jump to post
Why are we arguing like this is actually going to happen?
I'd love to see it, but there are so many issues with this plan and business model that I don't even know where to start.
I don't know how to post the link, but I found the source from a news outlet called "FTN news" it said that 30 flights will be announced from Guanzhou, China. One of the destinations is Guanzhou-Addis Ababa-Minneapolis/St. Paul- San Diego, via Ethiopian Airlines cargo. Very interesting! h...Jump to post
SFO to ZRH being comparable with CVG to BSL? If they are going after the corporate travel, wouldn't those traveling longhaul want premium class? Or is the goal to get the middle managers? I totally agree with you on the premium class. I have difficultly seeing business pax passing up CVG-CDG-XXX fo...Jump to post
DL used to run CVG-ZRH, so there might be some corporate clients that would love the route. However, I cannot imagine there is much traffic unless they were making connections in BSL and partnered with F9 for connections at CVG.Jump to post

what hurts is that CLE is very drivable to some of the largest flying markets-- Chicago, DC, NY, Toronto, Philly. . . . Another factor that killed short-haul flying is the TSA-imposed time and trouble hassle that arrived post 9/11 - which marked a big drop in CLE (and all short haul) traffic number...Jump to post
The article is a few days old, but it looks like Ultimate is looking to fill in the gap of DL cutting CVG-BNA. No details on timeline, though. ^Agreed. I'm honestly pretty confused as to the lack of CLE-PHX service. Even with the F9 3x week seasonal flight CLE-PHX, there is still a large gap in service compared to PIT, CMH, IND. Is there any reason why AA doesn't serve CLE but does serve PIT, CMH, and IND? Being an AA hub and all, it does...Jump to post
I saw somewhere in the chat about a flight from Pittsburgh to Daytona on allegiant air I think it could work since the flights going to and from Orlando to Pittsburgh seem to be full and most people when visiting Florida go to the beach that a flight to Daytona might be more attractive than a fligh...Jump to post

For CVG WOW went from 4 weekly to 5 weekly and suspending over the winter. Is the one Delta flight out of CVG so powerful that WOW can not get a foot hold in that market to maintain a year round flight. Why if they went from 4 to 5 flights a week before service even started could they not hold thei...Jump to post

I'm starting to wonder if Wow will return at all to CVG. I counted up the number of flights they'll have operated for the year, and suspiciously it's the minimum number needed to receive the incentives (I suspect that was the real reason for the upgrade in the number of weekly flights they offered)...Jump to post

DL CVG-PHX isn’t supposed to start until November and it’s already getting dropped. Maybe winter seasonal only? DL CVG-PHX isn’t supposed to start until November and it’s already getting dropped. While Delta has grown flights at RDU, including a new route to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Esposito said calls from the Raleigh business community for a direct flight to Asia are not in the cards for now. “I think that’s going to be a little bit farther down the road,” he said. “For...Jump to post
DL: ⋅ ATL - 73% - 65M out of 104M I do not understand what you have done here. 65/104*100 = 62.5, not 73. Is the 65 figure correct? Should that be 75M instead? That would be nearer to 73%. Same question here. Also of note, these shares are onboard traffic, not O&D share which would be...Jump to post

Here’s a question I’ve had for a while (keep in mind I’ve only been on a.net for a few months). IMO, Indianapolis would make great choice given the proximity to CVG and all the logistics employees that are going to be located here. Wouldn't CMH-CDG hurt the CVG-CDG? They've already started IND-CDG. How many CDG services can be supported in a 100-150 mile radius? Is the CVG service subsidized (other than P&G and CFM)? 25 years ago, Boeing was selling the 767-300ER on the idea of market fragmentation, ie, routes from US hub...Jump to post
