If the front of the plan on the 767 is nearly full as I had seen said, why not get a bigger plane if they can fill it? Or add frequencies???? That’s my question Most of the CDG flights to other cities are on the 767, so it is mostly about commonality. Also, the high-J 767 has the most business seat...Jump to post
Just look at CVG/RDU-JFK. Both cities are DL focus cities/mini-hubs and have a strong DL following, yet they only offer 1x/day on CVG-JFK, while CVG-RDU has 5x/day. The big difference is competition from B6/AA on the route. If B6 (or any other carrier) were to add CVG-JFK, DL would suddenly be opera...Jump to post
PIT as well. I messaged Wow on facebook and they responded by saying STL is not suspended but that they don't have the spring/summer schedule finalized for all the cities yet. That said, I contacted them when they suspended CVG/CLE for the winter and got the same response. Seems like that is their ...Jump to post
What would make Delta upgage the IND - CDG flight off of a 767? Are the yields / loads good enough? Or would we see year round daily service on the 767 before they would upgage a flight? As long as the 767s are in service at DL, they will be keeping the route on the 767. They also will not be opera...Jump to post
I thought STL was doing well for them? I wouldn't read much into it. They had 99% loads out of CVG and they still cut it. I think it is safe to assume STL is getting the axe just like many other WW destinations. Hopefully they figure things out and can resume some other flights next summer, but thi...Jump to post
What is the rational for serving DTW-MAN? I get that there was an article stating it was a possibility, but that seems to be it. Even ORD doesn't have MAN service and if VS/DL struggle to make DTW-LHR 2x/day, I am skeptical that MAN would work on either carrier. Is there local/business ties that wou...Jump to post
CVG is one of the two "fastest declining" airports in the country. Its time for a change! https://www.travelpulse.com/news/airlines/here-are-the-fastest-growing-airports-in-us.html A change in what? CVG was the fastest declining and most expensive in the country, now it is the fastest gro...Jump to post
What upgrades did they make? I’ve noticed that CVG-LAX is now operating on the 739 at least 1x per day. To be fair, CVG-LAX is also going from 38 departures in Dec '17 (B738) to 31 departures in Dec '18 (B738). I'm still seeing 38 departures for Dec '18. Mostly it is upguages within aircraft the ty...Jump to post
UA is temporarily suspending SBN-EWR in February and March. The flight will resume April 1st. There is no explanation given but I suspect it is due to Newark Construction and Crew Shortages. Or the flight isn't doing well? 1x/day on an E145 isn't going to cause much disturbance to construction in E...Jump to post
Were the flight times different? That alone could be a factor. As for CLE, I believe FI is keeping year round there while WOW suspended for the winter with no specific time for re-starting the flights. FI is also suspending CLE for the winter. As for WW, they have decided to suspend many cites with...Jump to post
[twoid][/twoid] I wonder if G4 will eventually decide to fly transcontinental routes? Maybe KBGR - KLAS? I wish they would initiate KELP - KEWR! They already do, but it’s only going to be routes with a lot of demand. Transcons use up an aircraft for a long amount of time, so you need routes that can...Jump to post
What is going on Friday? Can't be just Fall Break Travel, I noticed there are a lot of sold out inbound flights tomorrow as well.... I would to love to see CVG-SEA, especially given they are already in IND/CMH/PIT/BNA/STL/RDU. DL needs some competition on that route big time.
Given the fear some airlines seem to have about challenging DL at CVG, this is probably still a few years away...
UA has extended CVG-DEN at 2x/day mainline through the end of the schedule. Operated by A32S/B738 depending on the season. Makes me wonder if DL will go for another daily flight on the route. G4 has dropped to 2x/wk and F9 is down to 4x/wk, seems like the legacy carriers are wining this battle.Jump to post

I thought they didn't do that
Take it for what it's worth, but one rumor about ILN I've just picked up is that Amazon may move the whole shooting match back there, with one possible reason being delays at CVG. They'd have a ready to go to sort facility and an airport all to themselves. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327A using Tapata...Jump to post

DHL is adding 400 more employees and spending $20 million on construction of new buildings. Effective Dec 19, UA will operate both frequencies on CVG-DEN with mainline equipment (1xA319 and 1xA320). Looks like DL/UA/WN are really taking advantage of F9 pulling down the route. How far out in the schedule is UA flying 2x mainline on this route? Scheduled out to March 7, 2019, beyond that is...Jump to post
CVG-PHX/MCO are both only scheduled at 1x/wk, however, WN said they would be monitoring bookings and increase frequency as necessary. I think we will see both route go daily in April.Jump to post

Doesn’t DL/DTW split their LHR slot with PDX? PDX-LHR operating 4x/week and DTW-LHR operating 3x/ week? Wonder if PDX-LHR is going away.
Geez, can you go just one week without the DL /ATL hatefest? You do realize no one takes you seriously on this site don't you? No, I don't think he/she does. I haven't really followed WN's presence in CVG, but they would seem to be the most likely significant threat to the CVG focus city. If they can grow and attract significant numbers of DL's business flyers, I could see CVG losing it's focus city status at some point. I don't think WN is really affec...Jump to post
When is DL going to cut CVG down to hub flying/Paris and close the CVG focus city? Is it really that important strategically for DL to keep a big presence at CVG with DTW so close? How many of those people even have passports and the money to travel to Europe(nevermind a reason to go to Basel)? Huh? 8.7M people in the cities mentioned? DL used to run CVG-ZRH to catch the business market on the route, but I highly doubt it would entail much demand for a LCC flight. I'd love to see it, but there are so many issues with this plan and business model that I don't even know where to start.
I don't know how to post the link, but I found the source from a news outlet called "FTN news" it said that 30 flights will be announced from Guanzhou, China. what hurts is that CLE is very drivable to some of the largest flying markets-- Chicago, DC, NY, Toronto, Philly. . . . Another factor that killed short-haul flying is the TSA-imposed time and trouble hassle that arrived post 9/11 - which marked a big drop in CLE (and all short haul) traffic number...Jump to post
