RE: Plane Off Runway In YUL, Airport Closed

Sorry I guess I didn't explain it correctly, incident happened on 24R, departures were redirected to 24L (with a backtrack) while an inspection and / or repairs were done on 24R.

The CBC report is highly exaggerated, the aircraft had all of its wheels when it arrived at the gate.

RE: Plane Off Runway In YUL, Airport Closed

It was an A330, left main gear exited the runway upon landing, no apparent damage, probably just a few broken runway edge lights. With the closure of taxiway A due to construction all aircraft need to backtrack 24L to use it for departure, this has a major impact on operations if 24R needs to be clo...

Hardly any weight. With the Jetz A320s, when operating a charter flight, you find youself loading bulk cargo in an aircraft equipped for containers, so you're actually loading heavy equipment over railings, drive units and locks. It's very possible that this is an accurate picture of th event. If the snow plows did their job all it takes is a bit of sun to melt whatever snow/ice was left on the tarmac. If you look closely you can see snow in the background.

That sounds more like a hold short instruction for a runway, where no part of the aircraft must cross the hold short line(s).
