The flight attendants usually make an announcement letting folks know that they can turn off the TV by holding down the brightness (-) button until the screen dims...good to know for next time.

Cycle the hold switch at the top....

Then, press the menu (top of the ring) and center buttons simultaneously for about five seconds, this should reboot the iPod. If it happens frequently, I would suggest updating the iPod software.

I believe that the placement of the lavs is actually due to Virgin America's configuration (from which the aircraft is leased from). The idea is that with the lavs in the back, no customer ever has to be seated next to a lavatory.
