The only way to stop the Frequent Flyer dominance in Atlanta is through a second airport, close to the metro. And that will take the Georgia legislature. The two options are Gwinnett and Paulding. Gwinnett's County Commissioners haven't wanted to commercialize their airport, even when groups like P...Jump to post

N709DN is now scheduled to do a regular NRT-MNL-NRT rotation (subbing for the regular 76Z) on Aug 17-18 after it arrives in NRT. Yeah I'm not so sure it's going to SIN for conversion. Supposedly 7101 will be the next one to go in late September. If it is in fact ferrying back to Atlanta, how on ear...Jump to post

Their livery looks better on the A320 anyway
This is truly one of the nastiest forums on the internet I have encountered... The sniping and griping is off the charts and I'm sorry that it's affected this post. As a DL flyer and aviation enthusiast in general I've found this to be one of the most useful and interesting threads and am saddened ...Jump to post
Ok, enough procrastination. I’m good at delaying trip reports, and I’m running out of time before I have to go back to work. This trip was super fast. We were in Detroit for less than 24 hours across June 21 and June 22. This was originally supposed to be Bob Seger’s final, final show. He ended up a...Jump to post
You'll be just fine. Just don't screw around and be the last one off the plane or anything. Since you're in Comfort+, that won't be much an issue. Most of the 737s and A320s tend to hang around concourse A, so there's a good chance you won't even have to change concourses. Even in the off chance you...Jump to post
Atlanta to Indianapolis and vice versa could cross the Central time zone. I flew Cincinnati-Atlanta a few years ago that spent probably half the flight in the Central Time Zone. We flew all the way down to Louisville before turning left for Atlanta. Could be the case with quite a few cities to Atla...Jump to post

I am probably wrong, but isn't the plan to build a consolidated rental car facility at IAD? Seems strange to have them reorganize the current setup if the plan is to replace them in the not so distant future. That may still be the long term plan, but it's clearly not going to happen anytime soon. T...Jump to post
Welcome to Procrastination Station. I’m N776AU, your host. My cousin and I decided on Pocono again this year for a race. Just like last year, I would fly north on Southwest, and south on JetBlue. A round trip on either airline was a good bit higher, as was any other airline. I sweetened the pot a li...Jump to post
N776AU flies to IAD. What else is new? How convenient it was that my family is there, and Bob Seger happened to be performing on a holiday weekend :bouncy: . My procrastination is kicking in. This was Memorial Day Saturday through Monday. It’s my dad who is the huge Bob Seger fanatic, and he ended u...Jump to post

but curious if anyone suffers more from anticipatory anxiety than the act of flying itself. Right here. As a very young kid, I loved flying, but then just before 6th grade for some reason a switch inside of me flipped to total fear. Did I mention that was right in the middle of a flight betw...Jump to post
This picture is a few years old, and also not my work, but interesting, I guess.
I suspect you had a long runway and a derated takeoff. I fly out of BUR and the takeoffs are like rocket launches pretty much. Oh, for sure. Fortunately/unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), the vast majority of my flying is done to/from airports with very long runways. I took off out of...Jump to post
My procrastination strikes again. This trip was in March. Two months later, I’m finally getting to writing the trip report on it. Another fast trip, but for a different purpose, to see Bob Seger on his final tour with some of our family down in the Tampa/St. Pete area. For some stupid reason, I sche...Jump to post
Considering since the merger they've done nothing but cut Airtran's operation. Even a casual observer could probably figure so. Airtran used to have all of concourse C and half of D. Southwest occupies just half of C and that's it. I know when it was announced, Clark Howard did everything short of o...Jump to post
I quite enjoy the 717. It's a little rocket ship, and the way Delta has them set up is quite nice. They're very comfortable. MD-90 I'll only fly if necessary. Plenty of better narrow body options out there. MD-80s I will avoid at all costs. Their time has come and gone. 3 of my last 4 MD-80 flights...Jump to post

I'm an elementary school teacher, so probably not as much in the office for me as others, but I still have plenty at home. Not sure if this has been posted yet. Here's a picture of the AMS-SFO route launch a couple of weeks ago. Two things stand out IMO: the "AIRLINES" added to "UNITED" (like other A-nutters have mentioned) and the recently introduced pattern (of which I don't know the official name...Jump to post

I begin this trip report on the eve of another flight. My wakeup is only 5 hours away. Here’s my feeble attempt to not fall behind. Realistically, they’re probably just putting the swoopy 787 livery on everything.
There's a DL 763ER JFK-ATL this weekend and the flight # is 8801. Wld anyone know the purpose of this flight? It seems like a ferry flight being that the number is in the 8000s. I found that an A350 is being used for DL193 from ATL-LAX at 8:25 AM departure on 3/30/19. Looks like LAX-HND is switching to A350s starting in April, taking over for an A330-300 (which is also what usually flies flight 193). Looks like a similar situation to last summer with the one-off flight fro...Jump to post

People carry on their luggage because they are too cheap to pay the bag fees. I'd like to see airlines make checked bags free and start charging people for carry-on luggage and large bags. This would speed up the boarding process and put an end to all of this nonsense. This didn't used to be a prob...Jump to post
