Re: Air Canada News and Discussion - 2024

It’s interesting that AC is dropping frequency for AC3 YVR-NRT. That flight is almost always full as it is; even when it was on the triple this last December. I’m guessing they’re banking on the additional KIX capacity to take some of that traffic and the incoming ZIP air competition. AC will opera...

They have Y9130 YYZ-YYC landing at 11:59 and Y9136 YYZ-YEG landing at 00:01. The latter is supposed to be the last one hence the 00:01 timestamp for end of ops. A few more "tweaks" for peak summer 2024... AC908 YYZ-MAN frequency has been reduced from 6x/weekly (788) to 3x/weekly (789). AC846 YUL-FRA frequency has been reduced from 5x/weekly (333) to 4x/weekly (333). AC844 is still daily on 789. A lot of changes recently and more to come I'm sure....

I wonder if SQ would be willing to explore SIN-NRT-YYZ like how they do with LAX. Isn't SQ moving away from tags? Aren't they very expensive to operate? Interesting that they didn’t increase YVR to daily instead of linking it to YYZ. I wonder if this also means that we’ll see a year-round YVR-KIX.

YVR-KIX is also increased to 6x weekly on 789.

YYC's big hub operation needs transborders to leave at ~10 am, so that's why they all leave at 10 am.
