Any idea what is going on with the A338 proto? Has it even flown yet (I don't think so) & I wonder if that frame will eventually go on to Uganda.Jump to post

Hopefully at the FAS. An Airbus executive mentioned in an article I read that they have some widebody orders in the bag that they cannot announce yet.Jump to post
I agree with ANNEX14, plus the guy who posted the tweet is based in Germany so I think it has to be someone in the LH group.Jump to post

A widebody trijet in today's aviation world - definitely no. But farfetch'd as it may be, I still dream of Lockheed jumping back into the commercial aviation game! And I feel the only possible space for them would be in the 'NMA' sector, as neither A nor B have a proper offering there. That would be...Jump to post

Fleet: 6 MD-80 + 2 DC-9, but only 2 MD-83 were flying currently. Airplanes grounded due to lack of funds to complete maintenance. With 3/4 of the fleet grounded, no wonder they weren't making $$.
I think some of the Airbus future concept studies are T-tail designs. I guess the fact that they are even considering the design for future aircraft means something.Jump to post
Skyliners saw the former N368AA, now N396CM, going to MIA from ILN the other day, and published that it was going to MIA "for StratAir ops". I didn't think this one was going to Northern Aviation. My impression was that this aircraft, 396CM, was going to Amerijet, based on pretty-solid fi...Jump to post
Afterthought: How would the 717s handle the route (POS-TAB)? I imagine ANY jet for that matter would be uneconomical, but I've wondered myself, how would an RJ compare to the 737 on the route? Eg, an E175/717/F70. Or maybe an MRJ? A few years ago, BW did use a JAT Airways DC-9 to service the airbri...Jump to post
Also I've seen several time Amerijet's 727s on several Caribbean isalnds - they join the islands together and have regular flights from F Lauderdale / Miami Alas, only one 727 remains in the active Amerijet fleet: N395AJ. Recently she was withdrawn from Caribbean service & was being deployed wi...Jump to post
How is Insel going? Any news with the getting their jets back in the air. Winair/PAWA must be gobbling up market share with their SXM CUR service (once it restarts). Thanks a lot, I appreciate your time taken to write this! I did a little reading up on MZFW and other weights, which I never really paid much attn to. So does MZFW - OEW = An approximation of the payload? If so, My question now is if an A343 has a MZFW/OEW of 183T/129T (An A343F might be closer to 1...Jump to post
