Re: When was your last MD-80 flight and how was it?

Early June this year. DL MD-88 ATL-SDF. Purposefully sat near the back to take in that sound. I enjoyed it because I knew my days of flying MD-88s and -90s are nearing an end. That was one reason I chose that routing to SDF from MCI.

Re: Your least favorite aircraft type ?

CRJ-200 and -700. I find the -900 is okay, at least better than its smaller siblings. I like the ERJ's if I can grab an A seat; otherwise, I'm not a fan. I was never a fan of the Saab 340s. As for larger jets, while I try to avoid it, because of my home airport (MCI), Delta's 737-900ER is sometimes ...

Re: MCI Shut Down due to Flying Debris from Tornado 20 miles Away!

We live about 1 1/2 miles - if that - off the center line of MCI's 9/27. We had some debris at our place, including a 3-foot wooden piece that looked to have once been part of a chest of drawers, complete with two exposed screw heads. With that kind of debris falling in the area around MCI, it's no ...

Doing this on 1/1. We're flying MCI-DUB. I'm routing us through DTW (and then AMS) on DL so we can fly DL's A350 (Premium Select). 717 MCI-DTW; A350 DTW-AMS, KL 737-800 AMS-DUB and then the reverse on the 1/10 return. I almost never pass up a chance to fly one of DL's 717s. Looking forward to trying...

Actually the MD-81/82/83/87/88 (along with the DC-9-30/40/50 and 717) have one window between exits, whi...
