DL - My wife and I, both, are loyal to DL. Biggest trip we've booked so far for 2024 is MCI-JFK-ARN returning CPH-CDG-MSP-MCI (albeit the CPH-CDG-MSP legs will be on AF).

My wife and I find it is hit and miss for our DL SkyPriority-tagged bags to be among the first off the belt. When the system works for us, they are off very early. However, we have sometimes waited for them to be among the last to arrive at the luggage carrousel.

When my wife and I are traveling for leisure, we bring along a stack of $10 Starbucks cards and provide them to all cabin crew on our flights to thank them for working so we can go enjoy ourselves.

Not as impressive as other long departed mainline flights/destinations, but STL at 237 miles would be MCI's shortest current flight.

AMS - Flew in DL from DTW and out to DUB on KL; 10 days later reversed it -- in on KL from DUB and out to DTW on DL (January 2019)

Next summer, most likely will fly into CDG on DL and out to ORK on AF (one of its regionals); 13 days later will fly into AMS on KL and out to DTW on DL

I think DL makes the most sense for MCI. I'd prefer AMS over CDG, but that's just my own personal preference. Either way, a DL non-stop to Europe from MCI would be great (I would not mind dropping MSP, DTW or ATL as the jumping off point to Europe). That new big Sky Club seems it will be ready-made ...

My SEA/MCI flight was upgauged from the A221 (which I wanted) to an A320. Seems the upgauge hits after the first week of June. Yep. We fly MCI-SEA 5/28 and back on 6/3 on A221 birds. One of my favorite airliners. First flew an EA 757-200 CLT-ATL in the Summer of 1984. Since then, managed to fly -200s on TWA, AA, DL (as well as a legacy NW -300) and UA. Will be on a DL -200 Saturday LAX-LIH and DL -200s LIH-SEA and SEA-MSP the following Thursday/Friday.

I only had the opportunity to fly AA's DC-10s (DFW-HNL; HNL-OGG (an amazingly short hop); HNL-SFO) in January 1991. That was back when AA had a dedicated, decorated gate for HNL flights.

Stayed at the YVR Fairmont about 10 days ago before flying back to MCI via SEA. Top-floor room overlooking E and D. Could see down D ops, especially through the room's telescope. The new expansion looked great. Would have been nice to fly out of D, but we flew out of E back to the States.

Of the current, commonly seen (at least for me) planes flying, I'm most partial to the A350, A220 and 787. Given my username, though, when I do see the occasional 727, my eyes glaze over.

MGM - picked up a cracked windshield on a rental car and had to switch cars via the Avis counter. Only made it into the car rental area and was on site for 20 minutes, max. DSM - dropped a colleague off for his flight back to STL while we were driving across Iowa (I was driving on home to Kansas City)

DL has emailed me and my wife every time it has changed our booked flights, most recently about 2 weeks ago. So, in our experience, flight change notification emails are not a thing of the past for DL.

I flew AA DC-10s and DL and TW L1011s. Both types were nice, but I always preferred the L1011. I say that even though my late-father in law worked on wing design for the DC-10 when he was at McDonnell Douglas.

MGM - driving my family from Springfield, MO to the Citrus Bowl in 2014. Planned to split up trip and spend night on north side of Montgomery. The front windshield of the rental SUV developed a long crack while we were at dinner. Had to swap SUVs at MGM the next morning before continuing the drive.
