I flew on G-CEAC (European PALMAIR 737-200) twice this summer on BMI Baby flights. A great experience and excellent for an aircraft over 30 years old (entered service with Sabena in 1974). Brough...Jump to post
"The RAW image converted (3072x2048) looks great. Nice and sharp"
Try converting the RAW image again using the lowest sharpening settings (-2).
Then do the normal post processing. If the image already looks sharp at 3072 pixels, then most re-sizing will add jaggies.
Lets just go over the most important steps again. 1. From the UT program you clicked the UPDATE button. 2. You clicked the FIND UPDATES button. 3. As well as the updated aircraft liveries, you downloaded and installed the AFCAD files (the two really big ones which cover most of the <acronym title="S...Jump to post
Avsim have separate sections for 02 and 04 files too. When you are searching or browsing, select either FS2004 Original Aircraft or FS2002 Aircraft Repaints sections.
If the situation had required immediate action, then the 737 would have just made a heavy landing. In this case, the more fuel you can burn off the better. Would have been madness to try to land heavy on a damaged set of tyres. In 2000, we made a return to base in an ...Jump to post
The Dreamfleet 737-400 does not work with '04. It is an FS2000 product upgraded to work with 2002. That is the closest you will get to a real 733. The best freeware one out there is the FFX/SGA model. An example of the full aircraft download is file gfs_733_ffx.zip on AVSIM. Unfortunately, the freew...Jump to post
I use Ultimate Traffic, and I sometimes choose a route from there and follow it. For example, I choose an Aer Lingus flight from Manchester to Dublin and set myself up to do the same route IFR about 5 minutes before the flight is due to leave. I wait to hear the Aer Lingus get IFR clearance then req...Jump to post
Even in the four short years that I have been taking photographs, many many airlines and colour schemes have disappeared for good, and some aircraft types are disappearing very fast too. Fortunately, I have kept all of my digital originals and slides. DVD storage is dirt cheap, so no excuses for me....Jump to post
The biggest problem MAN has is the design of the second runway. 1. To get to or from 24L/06R, you need to cross 24R/06L. 2. 24L/06R only has taxiways at one end, so if 24R/06L had to be closed for any reason...Jump to post
You missed a few. Aviation videos/DVDs. Actually flying (both as a passenger and private pilot). Remote control planes. Today, I watched a new Aviation DVD which came through the post, downloaded some aircraft and flew on flightsim, visited other aviation websites and had some photos accepted at A.n...Jump to post

You just missed it. Peter Max has already been into MAN this week (Sunday).
The thing that strikes me here, is that 2L was the normal boarding door on all of the 757 flights I have taken. Is it different in the Far East? do they use 1L? It is no good comparing the 737/A320 exit arrangements, as a 757 holds a lot more people, and will require more exits. A typical 737 has fr...Jump to post
They do not need an NG yet.
The Boeing 737NG programme added a glass cockpit and optional winglets - things that the A320, A330, A340 series already has.
What most people seem to forget is that the screeners have been chosen from the best of the best photographers on this site. So where will they be on these long hot sunny days? At the airport taking loads of good photos and having a good time. It doesn't really matter how long it takes my photos to ...Jump to post
There is no way that dust will ingress the body from the 70-200 lens as its rear element is sealed - well it is on the F4 that I use. I assume that the rear of the 100-400 is not sealed then. I shot 196 photos yesterday and a big gob of dirt appeared on the last 24. Fortunately it is at the bottom e...Jump to post
Combination of the aircraft moving away from the photographer, possibly a little banking and the camera being a little tilted?
Are there any hard and fast rules here about level shots when airbourne? I personally like the shot - something a little bit different.
Make sure that your screen resolution and colour depth in FS are the same as the Windows graphics settings, especially if you run FS full screen. If you got 15 fps in the spring, then you should be able to get it back. I would be tempted to set all FS defaults to start with, change the resolution to...Jump to post

For all intents and purposes, there isn't a difference between a short 757 and a long 737NG. There is - RANGE. 737-900 - high gross weight version 5083km (2458nm). 757-200 - with P&W engines 7277km (3929nm). 757-200s are ideal for the transatlantic routes with lower load factors.
